Purchasing the rights to mine our dirt for low grade uranium ore to be sold in the US commercial uranium market is what Russia got from us. Btw the production at those mines represent about 4% of our commercial uranium needs.

The Canadians unloaded the mining rights as part of their deal. The ore produced in those mines still goes to the US market. Combined, the mines they bought the rights to, only produce 4 % of our yearly needs. Yeah the owners make a profit on the mines, but the workers pay US taxes.....and the product stays here.
