Stop being such a dupe for sensationalism. If he has no prior record he'll probably get put on probation and house arrest. He hasn't been convicted, the trial hasn't even started yet.

A great example of the problem with mandatory minimum sentencing laws- they sound great- until they hit the real world- and leave judges with no discretion.

Under Florida's 10-20-Life law, anyone convicted of a crime involving the firing of a gun gets a prison sentence of at least 20 years. Defense attorneys say Ratledge had a bad reaction to the sleep medication Ambien and didn't know what he was doing when he threatened the neighbors.
