Florida Republicans to gun hating doctors mind your own business

That "study" has been debunked and you repeating it over and over won't make it true

If it wasn't on the spot, the NRA wouldn't have DEMANDED the CDC stop studying gun violence.

Could you imagine what would have happened if the Tobacco industry banned cancer studies the first time someone suggested smoking caused cancer?

Owning guns isn't a disease. The CDC has no business pumping out anti-gun propaganda. That function isn't listed in its charter. The tax payers are well justified in demanding that the CDC stick to its intended purpose.

People like Joe thinking guns should be banned because he doesn't like them is a disease. It's called Liberalism.

IMO it's in peoples' best interests to have a weapon to protect themselves but It's none of my business if they don't

Just like it's none of the Drs business

A gun in the home is 43 times more likely to kill a household member than a bad guy.

Another bogus gun grabber statistic. You don't have to kill someone to use a gun to defend your home. In 99% of the cases, the gun is simply pointed at the intruder. It's never fired.

You just proved that you're a douche nozzle.

It's amazing what the sound of a shotgun being cocked can do to make an intruder shit his pants.

The Center for DISEASE control should not be spending tax dollars studying crimes it's not in their purview

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies have all the stats anyone needs on crime why do you insist on duplicating the work and the expense?

if the CDC published a study proving that most gun deaths were brave white homeowners shooting nasty darkie crooks, you'd be singing its praises.

It's because it points out the obvious- most gun deaths are suicides, domestic murders and accidents - that you guys bitch.

It's not a matter of authority or who should be studying the issue... it's that you don't like the facts when they come out.
No I wouldn't. The facts are already out in the stats from the FBI

And I want you to quote me where i said anything about killing "darkies"

IDGAF about suicides. It's not my, yours or anyone else's fucking business if a person with free will chooses to take his own life PERIOD

Well, it's good to try and stop them, but that is certainly no reason to take guns away from others.

Owning guns isn't a disease

Correct. It is the obsession/delusion that everyone but another gun nutters is out to take your guns that indicates gun nutters suffer a mental deficiency.

Seek help if you suffer from this delusion.

No, it's the desire to be able to protect yourself and family in the event you are attacked, particularly by another person with a weapon. Or do you think police officers suffer from this mental deficiency you proclaim?

You're still on the wrong end of the debate Joe. Regardless of the amount of guns in households, more people are using them for protection. Concealed Carry permits are up in the US and increasing every year. More people believe in the right of citizens to own guns than before:

gallup has no credibility. They were the ones who said Romney would win by six points.

It's amazing what the sound of a shotgun being cocked can do to make an intruder shit his pants.

The problem is you clowns think crooks are going to walk up to your house like extras in a Zombie movie.

A Crook who plans to take your shit is going to case your home, he's going to figure out when no one is there and then he's going to rob the shit out of you.

And no doubt, you'll have fantasies about how you would have shot him had you been home while your former guns are off being used in crimes.

Perhaps they think freedom is some sort of disease epidemic they need to wipe out?

Correct, and a criminal is never wrong. They always make sure nobody is home.

You have to read the paper more often. Criminals miscalculate all the time and do break into houses when people are home. Of course if we did it your way, criminals wouldn't have to care if you were home or not to to break in because nobody would be able to defend themselves.

One more time: Guns have absolutely nothing to do with the practice of medicine. Doctors would not be fighting this hard to get a law overturned simply because they were concerned about safety in a child's home. That's besides the fact safety in the home is not a doctors concern in the first place. A doctors job is to treat illnesses.

illnesses and injuries... treatment and prevention...

they also ask if anyone in the house smokes... does that make you paranoid too? :cuckoo:

Sure it does. Smoking is on the Nazi agenda as well.

As far as you on the left are concerned, a doctor should be allowed to interrogate children to satisfy their political agenda, but God forbid a teacher talks about Jesus Christ in a public school classroom.

Oh my holy God, that reminds me. I went with my daughter the other day to the Vital Records office to pick up a copy of my new granddaughter's birth certificate. I was waiting in the car, and decided to go inside to use their facilities (It was a long wait). As I walked through the lobby, the security guard stopped me, pointed to my vapor cigarette which was attached to a lanyard around my neck, and told me I couldn't have it in the building, because it was a $250 fine.

I said, "Obviously, I wasn't going to use it inside. Of course."

He said, "No, you can't have it with you at all. Not in the building OR the parking lot. Because, you know, this is the HEALTH department. County regulation."

I beg your pardon, WHAT?! My county board of supervisors thinks they now have the jurisdiction to tell me what perfectly-legal, unregulated items and products I can carry on my person or in my car? Would they also like to try to ticket and fine me for having a can of Diet Coke, because they don't approve of aspartame? It's not like I'm carrying a weapon into the courthouse. It's a vapor cigarette, and the department of birth and death certificates. Jesus Christ.

I said, "Are you planning to ticket me?"

He answered, "No, but be sure the head guard doesn't see you, because he's a hard-ass about that."

I'm giving serious thought to going back, JUST to dare them to ticket me so I can argue this garbage in court. Meanwhile, it looks like I have a LONG, pointed conversation due with my county supervisor.

WHAT is the world coming to?

That's exactly what they think. They are terrified by freedom.

Making a prediction and gathering data are two different things. Violent and gun crime have been on the decline for the last 20 years or so. Things are working now that we are no longer doing it the liberal way.

The smoking Nazi's have the same mentality as the gun Nazi's: If I don't want it, you can't have it either.

The Cleveland Clinic adopted a similar policy. You can't smoke inside or outside their facility. A few years ago I had a long wait for the doctor and had an appointment to see another doctor afterwards. So I went outside and lit a cigarette.

One of their security guards came running up to me and yelled YOU CAN'T SMOKE ON THIS PROPERTY. I said okay, and then stepped out onto the street. Again he repeated himself. I asked him if the Clinic owned the street too? He was kind of dumbfounded and said "No, but if you want to get run over, go right ahead!" I said "Thank you, and if I do get run over, I'm suing your company."

These people are control freaks.

"gun-hating"

"baby-killing"

"socialist"

the far-rights come off sounding like children.

RIght, because shouting

"racist"

"hater"

"xenophobe"

is so much more mature.

The left wing bag of tricks isn't working anymore, douche nozzle. Everyone is on to you.

Why should they? Hell, over here we are armed and they still break in or at least try to.

One of my tenants moved to Florida years ago. We've known each other for more than 20 years so we were like friends. We stayed in contact through e-mail.

She left here at the age of 65 and was a frail type of woman. One day I got a frightening e-mail from her. Apparently it wasn't intended for me but her daughter instead. She wrote how she got mugged while in Britain and they took everything including her passport and she had no idea how to get another one.

I felt so bad for her, but of course, I never responded because she didn't realize she addressed it to me. She was probably so upset and shaken by her horrible experience she didn't realize the mistake.

Liberals try to paint this rosy picture of what the US would be like without firearms by comparing us to other countries. They don't dig into the subject deep enough to realize that our crime problems are not the fault of armed citizens. Unlike many other places, we are a very diverse country and some of our races are much more violent than others. Liberal judges and politicians have turned our prison system into lowlife playgrounds and criminals don't fear them all that much, so we have no choice but to defend ourselves.
