For the First Time in History a Major US City Averages Over $5/ Gallon

Biden isn't preventing new oil production. The producers say they aren't going to produce more.

Try to keep up.
Wait, so you're saying the two line graph from page 1 of my 9th grade economics textbook doesn't explain all of this?

That can't be right.

Do away with Biden's energy policy. He lowered them once before and made us energy independent. Gas up here 30 cent in one week.
That wasn't an answer, sorry.

How will Trump lower gas prices, via policy?

Dude, I already know you have no fucking idea whatsoever what you are talking about, if you would like to tap out now. I suggest it, in fact.

What are you waiting for?

Dont like the price of gas…..perfect time to go electric
Batteries last about two years and cost more than the car to replace. You want to spend about $15,000 on your vehicle a year. But keep supporting Biden. He is going to make your party extinct by the end of his term.

Start up the construction on the Keystone pipeline again. Allow drilling on federal lands. Get rid of regulations on building more refineries. Bush just mentioned maybe opening Alaska land to drilling and the price of oil dropped overnight. Our enemies are controlling the price now.

All of the major auto manufacturers are going electric.

You can do whatever you want.

It doesn't matter who the president is, or who controls congress. They have no say in the matter.

This is a lost cause for the oil sucking right.

Deal with it.

Sure it does. You just lack the gray matter to understand the concept...
The whole world uses oil. Prevent a large portion of that oil from entering the market and up the price goes. We are paying for that insanity right now.

You'll never win this argument until you understand supply and demand...

Hmm, no, sorry. That not only would NOT lower gas prices right now, that would have an effect of raising Americans' prices, over time. That pipeline is designed to allow Chinese/Canadian owned oil to flow to the Gulf to be sold more efficiently to foreign countries around the world. As of now, with the glut of oil at the terminus of the pipeline in the middle of the country, American's enjoy discounts on the refined product.

So, no.
Allow drilling on federal lands.
We already have drilling on federal lands. Opening up the moratorium on new drilling on some federal lands that doesn't even start for ten years isn't going to help prices any time soon. Nor would such a thing cause producers to produce more oil. They don't even produce to 100% capacity now. Lobbying for those drilling rights is nothing but oil companies trying to trade and profit from mineral and drilling rights for possible production decades from now, not to ramp up production in either the short- or long-term.. Because that is not how ANY of this works,.

So, no again.
Bush just mentioned maybe opening Alaska land to drilling and the price of oil dropped overnight.
Maybe in fantasyland. But, I assure you, his comments and the prospect of oil companies trading on mineral and drilling rights a decade from now is not going to dent oil prices today.

Nobody's gonna build a huge refinery in this country again regardless of regulations. The cost of oil is not going down because the world wide demand exceeds any ability to increase supply .... and global warming is not a joke. Exxon shell chev etc know that.

For the first time in history, a U.S. city has hit an average gas price of $5 per gallon. San Francisco $5.06/gal Los Angeles $5.01/gal

As a community organizer once said, you’ll definitely pay more for energy under my plan!
The Left love the poor, doncha know!

Time to stop Biden’s preventing new US oil production.

They want this, and they deserve it.

Provided everyone can afford new electric cars.
And you can apply the same concept of supply and demand in this upcoming nightmare as well.
Let's see if Fort Fun Indiana can figure out what 9th graders know:

As the demand for more and more electric ensues, and electric becomes scarce, what do you think is going to happen to the price of electric, Fort Fun Indie? Is it sinking in yet?

The Keystone pipeline has nothing to do with domestic oil production. It is nothing but high sulfur coal slurry piped to the gulf for export, and would have no impact on gas prices in the US.

There are currently 13 million acres of leases that have been opened on public lands for drilling. That's an area the size of the state of New Jersey.

Gas prices could be cut by simply lifting the embargo on Venezuela oil production, and Iranian exports, which would lower prices immediately.

Of course domestic producers refusing to produce more, along with OPEC, certainly does make both of them our enemies.

no. Just no.

It will take years before that will happen. The average American cannot afford an electric car. Then after two years the batteries need to be replaced and they cost as much as the car. Who can afford around $20,000 a year, just paying for the vehicle? You loons should've let the private sector take care of it, and it would be affordable over time. But as always government gets involved and screws it up. Oh and also most of the bridges will have to be replaced because an electric car weighs almost double. Imagine what the roads will look like.

I dunno. Keystone "might" have the capacity to make a dent in the global supply being insufficient to meet demand .... but demand is going up faster than carbon can meet it. Even if it weren't for global warming, they have to find a new source.

People are just generally ignorant of how all of this works.

You can't solve gas prices by flooding the market with oil. That's how you get ACTUAL shortages. The kind with empty gas stations and lines around the block.

We have enough oil in the United States to supply the world with energy for years. But the Biden Administration wants us to go green before we are ready to do it.
