Ford already has 20,000 reservations for new electric F-150 Lightning pickup

I might be interested in an EV in another 20 years or so. They arent viable for a rural area. Yet.

Looks like there is some interest in this vehicle---When the worlds most popular truck, the F-150, goes electric--it's a sign--of course, a lot of Right wing types won't buy it..since they can't blow a bunch of obnoxious smoke...LOL!

The automaker revealed the vehicle at 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday night during an elaborate presentation at the company's world headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. The company's shares jumped by about 3% in premarket training.
The reservations are being closely watched by the company as well as investors to gauge the interest of customers in EV pickups, which is an unproven segment that automakers are rushing to enter.
Ford is taking reservations for the vehicle on its website. A refundable $100 deposit is required.

Smart, they saw how many f150 trucks had Trump flags and the owners who could afford them. Electric is a really nice feature, even if EVs never dominate the market.

I would buy one if they were reliable and durable. I love my 40 volt weed eater. However, most people would not be able to afford the truck though. IMO, it's insane that a vehicle costs more than the house you live in and won't even last 15 years. How much does a replacement battery cost? A motor? Transmission if it has one? How far can it go on one charge? Lol, simple minded folks never ask questions. They just do what they are told.

The nazis spew all this crap simply because it's part of the destroy the west agenda they've had going on for almost 100 years.

I have a 40 volt weed eater also. Works more reliable than a 2cycle gasoline engine.

However, it is not powered by batteries. All the batteries do is store up the energy created by burning fossil fuel at the regional power plant.

Whomever builds the vehicle should be able to control its maintenance. Ford is not all that cutting-edge, and yourself and the bank will have a long and romantic relationship. Cutting edge can also be defined as the micro-mobility wave. You can walk into a store with your E-board under your arm, instantly screwing the parking pimp. Our retrofit e-trike will be able to pull a trailer and cargo while recharging with on-board solar panels. Local dealers may have caught wind of such morphologies, because a recent check shows that prices for both regular and electric trikes have been raised $100. We will also be operating the machine in winter, so look for more ballsy skateboards to show up that can deal with ice and snow.

#43: Badger recharges the Ryobi weed-eater from solar panels. Screw the Pimp.

These car companies know that electric cars are shitty. Their engineers know the problems and know how it is failed technology.

However, they know how to make a profit.

They know how stupid consumers are and will buy something based upon their gut feeling rather than the economics.

They also know that government and some Moon Bat run companies are bonkers and will buy fleets of the ridiculous things. Also very stupid Moon Bat government officials will do everything possible to force people to use electric cars.

The market will be there because of Liberal idiocy.

Then there will be a lot of disappointed people that buy the stupid cars and wish later they hadn't.

We use to think that the movie "Idiocracy" was nothing more than a silly comedy. However, we are finding out it is documentary.

Wow . Lefties are so smart .... wait till they gotta replace the batteries in a few years ...

An EV battery can last up to 10 years, and the average value of cars goes down to about 10% of original sticker price after the same 10 years. If a $50k truck is worth $5k by the time the battery needs replacing and the battery costs $10k+, then the truck is totalled. I have engineered EVs and studied them for many years now, and I have never come across an EV that doesn't total when it is time to replace the battery pack. The the cost of a new battery pack always exceeds the value of a ten year old car.

Of course they do, they got Biden to do a commercial for them by driving one.

And let's not mistake it for it is, he got paid or compensated somehow by driving that electric truck as a publicly stunt by ford. He can't go visit the border but he can do a advertisement for a car company.

From the government.

#48: That is why one should pay attention to lithium and its recycling. Obviously, the Chicoms will want to corner the market for this technology. We already see the internet saturated with pay-for articles as this technology develops. Doing it with organic acids, for example, has been analysed, if not mistaken. Oxalic acid leaching: $1.06, tartaric acid leaching: $.59, etc.

Also on the bench is a pontoon-assisted watercraft run on solar panels (see youtube) and a retrofit for bicycles as we’ve used on the trike can be adapted to a propeller.

I can't argue against those dumbasses with Diesels stinking up the air all around them.
Hate them fucking things

20,000 orders globally?...that won't even pay for the batteries.....they had better do better than that....

The electric truck will become standard and accepted by everyone in the near future until a new technology comes along and we have to hear some folks whine about that change.

You are confused Moon Bat.

I know that electric vehicles are a Moon Bat's wet dream but they will be just as big a disappointment as these stupid wind farms that never work or solar arrays which are always a waste of money.

I wonder how many of you stupid uneducated Moon Bats even know that batteries don't create energy? All they do is inefficiently store energy that was created elsewhere. Energy created by fossil fuels or nuclear for the most part.

These stupid battery packs are only good for about 500 recharging, which is about two years worth of use in a work truck.

Then you have this little thingy about the rare earths that are used to make the stupid batteries create an environmental disaster and the elements will be depleted long before we run out of fossil fuels.
you left out that you'll have to pay a core charge to get rid of the broken one
