It's not just Ford, GM and Chrysler are in Mexico also, you can't blame them, the average daily wage these car companies pay in Mexico is about $26 a day. It's strictly business.

Canada has similar EPA standards and higher wages there................Tis not the same as Mexico.............NAFTA. SWe tried to put tariffs on softwood lumber from canada...they cried and whined and took the US to court over it. Fucking canada...you guys are worried about motors in Mexico...but could give a shit about how we support the canadian economy by just giving them trade. Fuckng pathetc...teaper hate for the wetback is anti-American.Why don't we just put a 1000% tariff on any engine (or automobile equipped with such an engine) resulting from this choice?
That should drag the engine-building jobs back to this side of the border.

Something needs to be done.
And now Obama should issue an EO that ANY thing coming from those plants to be taxed HIGHLY to be sold in this country....Ford will either move the plants back here or they will shut down."
"Ford said Friday it will invest $2.5 billion to build two new plants in Mexico so it can build small engines and new transmissions, underscoring a trend towards major automotive investments in Mexico."
Mexico snags big Ford engine investment as auto industry migrates south
But....why would CEO Obama allow this?

Mexico outbid Ontario for new Ford plant union president says Toronto StarDias told the Star that Ford was asking Ontario for a cash grant and the federal government for a loan, but would not specify the dollar amounts. “It was a very aggressive proposal by Ford,” he said.
In the end, Dias added, the Mexican government effectively outbid Canada: “Mexico will subsidize heavily and did, just like every other country that wants a strong auto industry.”
