Four-day workweek, 46% raise: UAW makes 'audacious' demands ahead of possible strike against Big 3 automakers

If the board decides his track record and leadership is worth that investment, why not? There are very few highly driven, skilled and experienced people willing and able to routinely work 70-80 hours a week and make decisions that could quickly put thousands into hardship. Most people have no clue what is required to effectively run a multibillion-dollar business that employs tens or hundreds of thousands of people.
Lol. IOW…The CEOs can get whatever they want, but fuck the workers.

When a company has a loss, that means it earned less than it spent. Is that a foreign concept?
Except that we aren’t talking about companies with losses. Why are you stuck on something that doesn’t apply to the discussion?

The CEO gets whatever the board thinks he/she is worth. The workers also get what the market thinks they are worth.
Fuck that. Most boards are rubber stamps for the CEO. You must know this right?

Because every company has times of profits and losses. It's normal for workers to look around and demand outrageous pay increases when profits are up, but then are nowhere to be found offering a helping hand when losses pile up.

Why is it a strawman?
??
The issue is workers making unrealistic demands that would greatly increase the price of an American car, that is already getting killed by foreign car makers.
The strawman is saying this has anything to do with the notion of a well paid work force.

Lol. You clearly know nothing about how business operates. As it relates the Big 3, when their profits are down what do the executives do? This isn’t rocket science. THEY CUT THE WORK FORCE. You stupidly think employers are stuck with paying workers when demand is down. THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN.

THINK!

No. When a company makes enormous profits, they can afford to pay their workers more. It doesn’t mean the price of their products must rise.

And you still haven't answered if it's better for everyone to take a 2% cut for a quarter or for 2% of the workers to permanently lose their jobs while everyone else keeps their pay.

Maybe. Maybe not. Does the union negotiate pay for the laid off employees?

And then the when the next loss hits (and it will), even more workers lose their jobs, and you complain again. Pay increases don't happen in a vacuum.

That’s up to the workers, but it’s a dumb question. How many big corporations ask employees for pay cuts to keep staff employed and to avoid lay offs?

That’s absurd. We have a major problem of income inequality in this country, but you’re fine with it.

They don't because workers have NEVER been willing to take pay cuts to keep everyone employed. They'd rather spin the wheel and hope it's not their turn to walk out the door with a cardboard box.
