Bullshit. Your education system started going downhill when you stopped funding it to reasonable levels, cutting education to the bone, disrespecting teachers, and trying to turn them into partisan farms to turn out good little Republican voters. That's resulted in the dumbing down of education in the USA to meet Republican costs and standards in the majority red states, which have the lowest scores in the country.
We've had Republican attempts to declare "ketchup a vegetable" in school lunch programs, so called "Christian schools" which teach Creationism instead of evolution, that the earth is 6000 years old, deny climate change, as well as discriminating against non-whites and gays, because they're private schools and all.
Republicans have politicized education in a way that hasn't happened in other countries, in the guise of giving parents "choice". This, in large part, is why the American workers score so low compared to the rest of the world. Our schools are busy preparing our children to be competitive in the 21st Century. They're getting the instruction in science, history, math and health care, to prepare them for life in the 21st Century. American kids are learning a false history, ignoring the slavery of blacks, the settling of the South-Western USA by Hispanics, the genocide of Native Americans, and other painful parts of your history which are essential to an understanding of how you got here.
My history classes included our troubled history with native peoples, the Riel Rebellion, and other dark chapters of our history which are part of who we are today. The conservative white-washing, literally, of American history is both a lie, and very dangerous one at that.
America is not and has never been a "White nation". It has been a diverse nation since the moment of its founding, and it's time for the Republican Party to stop pretending otherwise.
There is no comparison between a private school education and a public school education for getting students ready for college or the work force. Vouchers are the best way to get your kids a good education. The "apology tour" of liberal educators doesn't help the kids at all. Jobs of the future require more STEM schools.
