President Trump announces in Montana tonight he will be back to Butler in October. Going to be great.

The size of rally's are meaningless in getting new votes. One good TV commercial or one good line in a debate can secure more new votes than all the rallies combined. Only 1% of voters ever attend a rally and the ones that do have mostly decided to vote for the candidate. The primary purpose of rallies is to generate enthusiasm among supporters and the candidate. Ten thousand people screaming we love will certainly give the candidate a boost. I suspect this is what's behind most Trump rallies.

In 2016, Trump rallies caught the attention of media often covering the candidates speech with many reports of crowd size and interviews with attendees. Today the media has little interest in most campaign rallies. About the only time the media showed much interest in a Trump rally was when a gunman tried to kill him.
