Gitmo Survey. What Cities Would You Want To Send The Terrorists To?,Places "Worse Than Hell".

:dev3::crybaby::FIREdevil: The Gitmo Dilemma is back in the news this week, and Obama really thinks he can just cut them loose somewhere in the USA. Yah, what's he gonna do? Get his phone and pen again.
But what if you had the power to send them free? Where would you send them? Doesn't have to be just one city, you can spread them around, 10 here, 12 there, 15 over here, etc.
Can we start with Washington DC and Detroit?
You can also choose cities around the globe.

A classic fallacy of the middle.

They will be sent to a supermax prison.

The poor pants shitters seem to think the detainees will acquire some magical superpowers which will be activated when they set foot on US soil.

Retards.

and are you not aware of the laws of our land? If you are incarcerated in a US cell you must be accused of a crime or have been found guilty of a crime. If you are accused of a crime, you have the right to a fair and speedy trial in front of a jury of your peers. What crime will they be charged with? Murder? During war? No such thing...or every American Soldier that has killed on the battlefield is guilty of murder.

So what do we charge them with?

What crimes landed them in Gitmo?

Try them, convict them, put them in a supermax, throw away the key.

GITMO is not a US prison. It is a prisoner of war camp. They did not commit crimes in the legal sense. They were captured as enemy combatants and detained at GITMO so they can not return to the fight. They should remain there until all hostile actions by their "group" end....until their "war" ends. Then, as we have done when every war ends, they will be released....usually during a trade of POW's.

Are you truly not aware that they have not had trials because they have not committed any crimes from a military standpoint? What the heck do you think was the reason they were never tried? The only prisoners of war that receive trials are those that committed war crimes.....but those that were captured were combatants/leaders, etc. Sure, we want to say they committed war crimes.....but from a legal standpoint, devising a plan to kill Americans when you have declared war on America is not a war crime. It is an act of war.

would you consider it appropriate for Iraq to put a US soldier they captured on the battlefield on trial for Murder and executed when found guilty?

Doing that, in itself, is a war crime. It is a war crime to try and convict a POW for murder on the battlefield.

Charges which have been laid against other terrorists in US courts:

Conspiracy to Commit Acts of Terrorism Transcending National Boundaries (18 U.S.C. §§ 2332b(a)(2) & (c))

Conspiracy to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction (18 U.S.C. § 2332a(a))

Conspiracy to Murder United States Employees (18 U.S.C. §§ 1114 & 1117)

Conspiracy to Destroy Property (18 U.S.C. §§ 844(f), (i), (n))

So there you go.

Why the U.S. base at Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay is probably doomed
This has been really interesting. I'm still trying to figure out Randall's claim that closing the prison won't save us much, because the Naval Base will remain open, and it seems he's right. At least for now.
the naval base will remain open for years unless we give the territory back to Cuba. It has a great strategic location. As for closing the prison, sure it will save some money....but the cost to incarcerate them elsewhere will minimize those savings.
Sure, if I get rid of my car, I will save on the monthly car payment. But buying a different car will pretty much erase those savings.
Yesterday, President Obama had no problem talking about how much GITMO costs a year...but he neglected to mention how much it will cost to incarcerate them elsewhere.

and other than those acts that took place on US soil, none others stuck. Why? Because our laws do not govern acts against us during a time of war outside our borders.

Don't waste your time...

we can send 12 of them to Flint and let them know that the tap water is safe to drink and bathe in.:laugh2:

The gangs in flint used to as an initiation send the to be member out in a car with the headlights off at night. The first person who flashed their lights to let them know their lights were off, they killed as their initiation.

I'd go for that. Let's close Gitmo and send them to Flint. as you say, all the water they can drink will be for free...

The Dallas-Ft Worth area would be appropriate....
Buffalo, New York.
They will be BEGGING to go back to GITMO.

I don't get it. Buffalo isn't that great, but it wasn't that bad either. BTW, I have no particular connection to Buffalo either way, just didn't think it was that bad
Great wings. Too much snow. Good zoo. Great museum of Modern Art. Okay, you win. Just bring a shovel and your snowshoes.
