Good BBC article on US presidential elections

well biased like I expected. Dump on the Republicans. BBC isn't unbiased so take it with a grain of salt.

BBC is like most left wing media outlets.
Many of us see the BBC as a right wing mouthpiece. It swings back and to and is closely watched in the UK. I would say that on the whole it is generally ok.

Then your "us" must be very far to the left.

Criticism of the BBC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Former political editor Andrew Marr argued in 2006 that the liberal bias of the BBC is the product of the types of people the Corporation employs, and is thus cultural not political.[8] In 2011, Peter Oborne wrote in his Daily Telegraph blog, "Rather than representing the nation as a whole, it [the BBC] has become a vital resource – and sometimes attack weapon – for a narrow, arrogant Left-Liberal elite".[12]
Speaking to journalists at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch in 2009, Jeremy Hunt, the Shadow Cabinet Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, claimed that BBC News needed more Conservatives: "I wish they would go and actively look for some Conservatives to be part of their news-gathering team, because they have acknowledged that one of their problems is that people who want to work at the Corporation tend to be from the centre-left. That's why they have this issue with what Andrew Marr called an innate liberal bias."

Like I said it swings both ways. Theres a link to a recent "scandal" below and there have been others which balance out the links you provide. If you are upsetting everybody then that is probably the right place to be. The BBC has a tough time of it. The majority of the press are right wing tory supporters and the BBC is one of the few institutions they dont control. Its a huge irritant to them going back to the days of Thatcher. Murdoch has made it his goal to undermine the BBC as they block his business interests. Murdoch pretty much owns the tory party and used to own the Labour party under Blair. The phone hacking scandal set back his efforts a few years and hopefully the evil fuck will be feeding worms before he can win that battle.

I think the BBC just raised the questions which has been said on this forum and number times:

Is the US in a permenant state of campaigning?
Has campaign finances dominated candidates decisions?
How is it every other country has the campaigning season at around 6 - 12 weeks and US is moving closer to 2 years?
Is the Electoral College a fair way to select a candidate when 40 states votes effectively mean nothing?
Is there better way to do this?

Trump's impact is not because of his money, it's because of his message.

He is speaking what a lot of people have wanted to hear for a long time and have NOT gotten from their political class.

It is a good thing.

THe UK? Google UK Rape Rings and ask why yourself how well an anti-immigration populist would do in a presidential election there.

well biased like I expected. Dump on the Republicans. BBC isn't unbiased so take it with a grain of salt.

Biased would probably be the wrong term. It's written for the British audience, it's explaining things from a different perspective with no real need to take political sides in the matter.

You're kidding your self if you think the BBC is unbiased in this.

THey completely miss the point why Trump gets so much media play.

The media spends that much time on TRump because they are trying to destroy him.
Remember when you insisted that Palin was the victim of a vindictive media......and then it turned out that she is every bit the moron the media was portraying?

That doesn't mean they're telling America what to do, it means the reporter took an angle on the election that might interest people with some intelligence.
He isn't a reporter, he's a journalist. do you know the difference? Reporters report the news. Journalists create the news. No one with a brain over here gives a fuck on how some Brit thinks we should elect our leaders.

IceIce,

In order of the time spent with each, would you list the sources on which you rely for your edification?

No.

Her career in Alaska politics certainly does not seem the work of a moron.

Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Widespread organised child sexual abuse took place in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, between 1997 and 2013. Local investigations into the abuse began in 1999, although some reports were never finalised or made public by the authorities.[1] In 2010, five men of Pakistani heritage were found guilty of a series of sexual offences against girls as young as twelve.[2] A subsequent investigation by The Times reported that the child sex exploitation was much more widespread, and the Home Affairs Select Committee criticised the South Yorkshire Police force and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council for their handling of the abuse.

...It conservatively estimated that 1,400 children had been sexually abused in the town between 1997 and 2013, predominantly by gangs of British-Pakistani men.
[7] Abuses described by the report included abduction, rape, torture and sex trafficking of children.[6]
Members of the British-Pakistani community condemned both the sexual abuse and the fact that it had been covered up for fear of "giving oxygen" to racism

YOu disagreed with her policies and her ideology.

I understand that as a liberal that you assume that means she is a moron.

But I do not share your belief system and will not allow it to define my reality .

Her career was impressive and not the career of a moron, despite the fact that she made different choices than you would.

Palin Endorses Trump, But Not His Economic Policies
Summary of Sarah Palin's Economic Views

As Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin demonstrated her position on energy and oil prices, a balanced budget, cutting taxes, and spurring economic growth. However, this position didn't give her experience on many important national topics, such as free trade, military spending and any stimulus to the financial crisis.

Palin Supported a Balanced Budget and Tax Relief
Palin's commitment to fiscal responsibility would be good for the economy. Before becoming Governor, Palin was Mayor of Wasilla, where she cut property taxes 60% while spurring economic growth. She sold a $2.1 million corporate jet bought by her predecessor, and cut $231 million from Alaska's $550 million capital budget. She would try to cut the federal debt.

I am not assuming anything.

I have read up on the recurring problem your nation is having with industrial scale Rape Rings and I conclude based on that, and the pathetic way that your government handles these problems that your immigration policy is a utter disaster.

There is no way that any population would choose this course for themselves.

This is obviously the result of an out of touch, out of ideas Political Class combined with a broken political process that has muted the Will of the People for redress.

That's fine.

One of the major themes of the Left is that Trump is Evul. (racist, greedy, whatever)

Palin is a very nice and likable person.

Her endorsement will weaken that line of attack.
