Good PLAN: Deep food stamp cuts will affect TRUMP voters equally

I get so sick of seeing white trash paying for their food with a SNAP card...then pay cash for a damn carton of cigarettes that is equal to, or greater than the cost of the food they bought!!
Yea, like minority people using Snap would never do that. ....

Don't mean it that way.
I live in an area where the black population is .4%.

Most ppl for Trump work asshole.

Voters for Sanders who want free everything don't work , neither did Obama's filthy class of little bitches. He was to busy rounding them up putting them into the welfare system.

I'm sure Trump voters would rather have a job (unlike the parasites who vote Democrat).
One can only hope.
A better idea............

In order to qualify for SNAP, you cannot have nicotine in your bloodstream. Mandatory spot checks.

I know what you mean. Sorta like ghetto blacks buying food with EBT cards, then spending their cash on booze and drugs. Pisses me off.

There goes that a law of unintended consequences. I know, I know. He'll wait till AFTER the mid-terms to slash 'em. Then his voters will get their surprise.

Trump’s GOP is looking to deeply cut food stamps — hitting his voters hard

If Republicans succeed in their multi-front campaign to cut back on food stamps, the burden will fall heaviest on the working-class, rural white voters on whom President Trump has staked the future of their party.

House Republicans on Thursdaypassed legislation that would require Americans ages 18 through 59 to either work part time or enroll in 20 hours per week of workforce training to receive food stamps.

On the same day, the White House unveiled a proposal to consolidate the public safety net — including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — under a revamped health department. The program, my colleagues Amy Goldstein and Caitlin Dewey write, “has an explicit aim of building standardized requirements that people must work or prepare for jobs to qualify for government help.”

On the surface, these efforts seem like they will affect Democratic voters the most. The highest rates of food-stamp assistance tend to be in the most Democratic areas. But that’s a superficial reading of the numbers.

Yes, the most Democratic-leaning fifth of counties tops the rankings in terms of reliance on food stamps — there, 14 percent of all households got SNAP assistance, based on 2012-16 data. But the most Republican-leaning fifth runs a close second at 13.5 percent...

Good I hope they starve
I know you're pissed, but really?

They need to learn their lesson. Facts don’t sway them, so maybe hunger will finally show them what a piece of shit Trump is.

No, but still. The harder things get for them, the more solidly they’ll learn a lesson.
You think they're educable? The swing voters maybe. The rest will somehow blame the Dems. Count on it.

The problem with work requirement is that a large portion of those on food stamps are already working. The problem is that they aren't being paid a living wage and don't get a full 40 hour week.

Employers like walmart teach their new employees how to sign up for public assistance when they're hired. There's something wrong with an employer teaching their employees how to sign up for public assistance. The employer knows they aren't paying that person enough to live on.

Tax cuts won't raise wages of working people. It only raises wages of the 1%.

The responsible and proper way to decrease food stamp usage is to pay people enough wages so that they don't need or qualify for food stamps.
Too much intelligence for this board.

Yeah, that's it. 10 months of finally a SMALL rise in wages is enough to di disqualify then SNAP benefits. You believe that foljs, right,

and in the next sentence they will blab about the deficit.....sky is always falling in libland and people dying like flies...….and yet like global warming there never is any evidence of it.

They need to cut food stamps.

I will never forget the time I was in the Wal Mart in my old home town shopping. I had a handful of things, all I could afford. I was working full time, paying for a house, car insurance, the normal stuff. Not cheap. The black people in front of me had a BASKET full of things. A snowcone full of crap. Basket heaping over, stuff falling out. They rang it all up and the total came to 248 dollars. I was thinking to myself "She must be a nurse or something to be able to afford all that food." She whipped out her EBT card and off they went.

Here I come with my handful of groceries to get me by another week that included a loaf of bread and a splurge, an off brand bag of potato chips, my total was 51 dollars. I had to put it on my credit card. That I paid for myself later that month. I went home and applied for EBT. I was turned down because I had a job.

Go figure. Just quit my job then I can eat like a king.

Lowest black and hispanic unemployment rates ever. Lowest female unemployment rate in 21 years.

Those aren't rises in wages. They're jobs where people can become proud and independent rather than shamed and dependent on the government.

For the record, the reason a lot of folks on food stamps aren't working 40 hours anymore is ACA.
