Gop Offers These 11 Principles

Here are the Republican Party's Principles for American Renewal

  • Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored. Agreed.
  • Economy: We need to start growing America’s economy instead of Washington’s economy so that working Americans see better wages and more opportunity. Better wages will only come only with further training and education. Make college more affordable and LOWER LOAN INTEREST RATES instead of protecting corporate lenders.

  • Budget/Debt: We need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, make government more efficient, and leave the next generation with opportunity, not debt. Cuts are good, even in the military where it is way way overloaded.

  • Healthcare: We need to start over with real healthcare reform that puts patients and their doctors in charge, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington. And keep big Pharma out of the process.

  • Veterans: Our veterans have earned our respect and gratitude, and no veteran should have to wait in line for months or years just to see a doctor. Agreed

  • Security: Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing the economy, energy independence, and secure borders. Agreed but our military is the strongest in the world We spend plenty here.

  • Education: Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school. Careful though if you ship all the problem kids to a high performing school scores go down. WE have to get rid of the testing mentality or teach solely and only to the test. If you disagree you have no clue about education.

  • Poverty: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work. And they need further education as they should start off making $20 per hour plus benefits to raise a family. Anything less should not be considered a job.
  • Values: Our country should value the traditions of family, life, religious liberty, and hard work. Agreed and I believe we do value them. AS A MARRIED MAN WITH 4 KIDS GAY MARRIAGE IS NO THREAT TO ME OR THE TRADITIONS OF MY COUNTRY.

  • Energy: We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices, and creating jobs at home.
  • Immigration: We need an immigration system that secures our borders, upholds the law, and boosts our economy.

What an excellent post!

About time the GOP told America what it was offering.

"Pushing back against criticism that the GOP had become defined entirely by opposition to President Obama, Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus released a list of 11 “Principles for American Renewal” that he said would guide the GOP agenda should it gain control of government."
GOP debuts new principles to demonstrate positive agenda MSNBC

Any disagreement on these ideas for governing?

Here are the Republican Party's Principles for American Renewal

  • Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.

  • Economy: We need to start growing America’s economy instead of Washington’s economy so that working Americans see better wages and more opportunity. Too bad that conservatives can be bought out by big business and have corporate welfare
  • Budget/Debt: We need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, make government more efficient, and leave the next generation with opportunity, not debt.
  • Tell that to Senate and the house. Obama has submitted many good budgets that were rejected by conservatives multiple times.

  • Healthcare: We need to start over with real healthcare reform that puts patients and their doctors in charge, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington.

  • Veterans: Our veterans have earned our respect and gratitude, and no veteran should have to wait in line for months or years just to see a doctor.
  • Quit letting conservatives take away from our Veterans.
  • Security: Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing the economy, energy independence, and secure borders.

  • Education: Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school.
  • Quit making cuts to education, then.

  • Poverty: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.

  • Values: Our country should value the traditions of family, life, religious liberty, and hard work.
  • We should also embrace freedom from religion and diversity.

  • Energy: We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices, and creating jobs at home.
  • Immigration: We need an immigration system that secures our borders, upholds the law, and boosts our economy.

  • Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.
No shit....every American believes that

  • Economy: We need to start growing America’s economy instead of Washington’s economy so that working Americans see better wages and more opportunity.
Who could argue with that? But we need detail on how Republicans propose to increase wages and opportunities. They didn't the last time we let them run things

  • Budget/Debt: We need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, make government more efficient, and leave the next generation with opportunity, not debt.
Balanced budget amendment can't work in today's political climate. It assumes some ability to compromise

  • Healthcare: We need to start over with real healthcare reform that puts patients and their doctors in charge, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington.
Fail.....more repeal OBAMACARE and we will let you know at some distant time what we will replace it with. Bring an offer to the table that is better, then we can discuss
  • Veterans: Our veterans have earned our respect and gratitude, and no veteran should have to wait in line for months or years just to see a doctor.
No shit. Are republicans willing to pump billions into veterans health? If not, it is just platitudes
  • Security: Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing the economy, energy independence, and secure borders.
Good start but it ducks the question about what we do with current immigrants.

  • Education: Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school.
Education is more than vouchers. Republicans need to get away from their pet bandaid solution and look at the entire education picture at all levels
  • Poverty: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.
Platitudes that dodges the problems. The issue is how will you bring jobs to those who need it? How does government enforce strong families?
  • Values: Our country should value the traditions of family, life, religious liberty, and hard work.
No shit......everyone wants that
  • Energy: We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices, and creating jobs at home.
Sounds like drill baby drill and frack baby frack. What about other energy? Solar, wind, biofuel, nuclear.....can we talk conservation?
  • Immigration: We need an immigration system that secures our borders, upholds the law, and boosts our economy.
Dodges the question about what we do with 12 million who are already here

  • "Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.

A fabrication right off the bat.

Liberals don't believe in the Constitution.

They endorse the absurd notion that any Liberal in a black robe can alter it as they see fit....i.e., 'the living Constitution,' which could be called 'the amendments be damned' thesis.

  1. As a basis for understanding the Commerce Clause, Professor Barnett examined over 1500 times the word ‘commerce’ appeared in the Philadelphia Gazette between 1715 and 1800. In none of these was the term used to apply more broadly than the meaning identified by Justice Thomas in his concurring opinion in ‘Lopez,’ in which he maintained that the word ‘commerce’ refers to the trade and exchange of goods, and that process, including transportation of same. A common trilogy was ‘agriculture, manufacturing and commerce.’
  2. For an originalist, direct evidence of the actual use of a word is the most important source of the word’s meaning. It is more important than referring to the ‘broader context,’ or the ‘larger context,’ or the ‘underlying principles,’ which is the means by which some jurists are able to turn ‘black’ into ‘white’, and ‘up’ into ‘down.’.” “Originalism,” Steven Calabresi,

All men are created equal......at the time, there was no more liberal thought in the world

Conservatives supported the king....that's where the money was

Yes, very liberal thought, but your ilk was not, and is not, remotely connected to that thought. The liberals of 1776, would have been called conservatives today, and would be called traitors by the so called "Liberals" of today.

How dare these traitors seceed from England. The military will crush their stupid asses. Go ahead, revolt and see how fast the king steps on you.

Sound familiar? How many "Liberals" on this board have made like statements about anyone suggesting revolution here?

No, modern "Liberals" are not the kind of people that put their lives and fortunes on the line for liberty. They were the kind that toadied up to the king's men in the hopes of getting the crumbs from their tables.

Due to their disdain for the common man and pandering to the wealthy, our founding fathers would have spat on today's conservatives

Why hide behind a stolen appellation?

By now you know very well that the communist/socialist John Dewey glommed on to "Liberal" because of how the electorate caught on to 'socialism.'

In "The World Turned Upside Down," makes clear the difference between the Founders, the classical liberal, today's conservatives, .....

....and you, the Modern Liberal, the socialist, the Marxist....

Study it:

"Classical liberalism, the optimistic doctrine that gave us liberty, democracy, progress, was a moral project. It held that human society could always better itself by encouraging the good and diminishing the bad. It rested, therefore, on a very clear understanding that there was a higher cause than self-realization: that there were such things as right and wrong and that the former should be preferred over the latter.

But the belief that autonomous individuals had the right to make subjective judgment about what was right for them in pursuit of their unchallengeable entitlement to happiness destroyed that understanding. Progressives interpreted liberty as license, thus destroying the moral rules that make freedom a virtue."

Abysmal stupidity.

I realize that it is far too late to change one as far gone as you are....

...but I offer this anodyne, ....."""[[[bullshit follows]]]]

"....the ones who have been incurably incapacitated by government schooling.....""

This is your worn-out excuse for anyone who recognizes your true ignorance.

I'm not government schooled. I've been self-employed since I was 14 years old. I only eat what I kill. Never received a federal, state, county or municipal dime.

So maybe you're the imbecile here because even the best Bolsoi dancer couldn't make a a leap like that based on a common sense statement that insurance companies PROFIT from their customers aging and incurring natural health problems that come with growing old. They capitalize on situations in which their customer has not assumed risk but is victimized anyway.

Insurance companies have no business being in health care, they are in the business of covering risk, not the inevitable. Got it, Twit?

Cars, houses, commercial liability...boats, trains, planes....yes. Health care. NO.

Classical liberalism is a term invented by conservatives to acknowledge that they are finally accepting liberal principles from 200 years ago

A liberal is a liberal is a liberal

They look at the challenges of their day and develop ways to address them. The fact that conservatives eventually accept it as their faith does not make them liberals

Some good...some bad

About time the GOP told America what it was offering.

  • "Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.
No shit....every American believes that"

So..."every Americans believe that " is patently false.
Only real American do.

Golly gee....how can you argue with Rush Limbaugh conservatism?

Liberals don't believe in the Constitution....even though they wrote it

Capitalists who focused on freedom of opportunity and religion wrote the Constitution. Nothing Liberal here. The Framers of the Constitution wrote nothing about citizens subsisting off the Government from Cradle To Grave. Hardly Liberal.

Thomas Paine supported guaranteed minimum income for all citizens.

1. "In 1988, I invested most of the earnings from this lecture circuit acquiring the leasehold on Connecticut’s Stratford Inn. … In retrospect, I wish I had known more about the hazards and difficulties of such a business, especially during a recession of the kind that hit New England just as I was acquiring the inn’s 43-year leasehold.I also wish that during the years I was in public office, I had had this firsthand experience about the difficulties business people face every day. That knowledge would have made me a better U.S. senator and a more understanding presidential contender."

Best you can do?

The sad part is that is the best you can do

CNS?

No...what is sad is that inveterate liars/Liberals imagine that folks can't see through them....

....in this case, that you could not dispute post #92, with the ineluctable conclusion that both you and the community organizer are incompetent windbags.

Is CNS the best you can cut and paste?

Damn Girl.......they teach that at Columbia ?

Admit it...you wish you could be like me....

I heard that the Pope once found a potato chip that looked exactly like me.

Greasy, with no identifiable human characteristics.

And loaded with empty calories.

My what a wonderful list of vague generalities, smothered in confectioner's sugar. A politician's soup of meaningless crap.
Specifics, what are the bastards offering that differentiates them from the bastards in the other party of centralized big government?

You like what you have, currently?

You like shilling for one half of the current problem?

Only a moron would suggest that there are more than two choices in a presidential election.

One can make a choice....or one can behave as an you have.....and deny reality.

Grow up.

All men are created equal......at the time, there was no more liberal thought in the world

Conservatives supported the king....that's where the money was

Melanie Phillips
Classical liberalism is a term invented by conservatives to acknowledge that they are finally accepting liberal principles from 200 years ago

A liberal is a liberal is a liberal

They look at the challenges of their day and develop ways to address them. The fact that conservatives eventually accept it as their faith does not make them liberals

I like you better before I reduced you to a lying low-life.

Why do you guys hide from your real title....'socialist'?
