Vice President Kamala Harris will announce a comprehensive four-year strategy on Friday aimed at reducing housing costs. The plan includes a $25,000 down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers and incentives to boost new housing construction, according to Harris-Walz campaign officials.

Harris will reveal the plan during an economic policy speech in North Carolina, CNN reported.

Damn, vote buying much?

Don’t try to drop prices by making sound financial decisions for the whole country, just print money and buy votes!

Free shit!! For. The. Win!!

What a brilliant plan! Let's have the government inject more free money into the economy, driving up demand for housing and resulting in higher valuations. The problem is, $25K against a $400K home still leaves them with a hefty monthly payment (about $2400), plus PMI, taxes, fees, closing costs, higher interest rates, homeowners insurance, and basic maintenance around the house. $25K sounds like a lot, but it's not that much in the context of buying a home.

Economic illiteracy doesn't even begin to describe Harris or the Democrats.

Imagine having scrimped and saved to buy a home only to get beat out by an offer from someone who received $25,000 from the government.

Now imagine that same person was also an illegal invader the dems gave a "pathway to citizenship" to.

True. Renting is much cheaper than owning. Building wealth through home ownership is a fallacy.

And it's the banks will be able to collect interest on the extra 25K when prices go up. :laughing0301:

OH, here come the bribes! right in time for the 2024 election. Hey, how come they didn't do this in 2021/2022 when millions of Americans were being kicked out of their apartments from skyrocketing rents ?

If they didn't do it then, they won't do it now.

Biden also recently talked about a 5% cap on rents. Great! Now that your rent is $2000/month for a 1 bedroom apartment. $750 when Trump was president.

Lock barn door after horse ran away.

Empty rhetoric.
Till it's not with a FKH win.....Remember all those spending bills? Much of that money has not yet been spent and it's all transferrable.....I read where only 1/10th of the infrastructure bill money has been spent thus far.

If FKH she gets elected, this country is so fucked.

There is no end to free shit from other people's money.
