It means they can reduce their tax burdens with deductions by a certain amount each year until the $25,000 figure is met (generally a few thousand dollars a year).

The plan includes a $25,000 down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers and incentives to boost new housing construction, according to Harris-Walz campaign officials.

True. Renting is much cheaper than owning. Building wealth through home ownership is a fallacy.

Renting is undoubtedly a less expensive alternative. Renters avoid many expenses that are often related to purchasing and maintaining a house. Annual taxes alone can be expensive, depending on the valuation of the home and the area you live in, and deductions on interest payments have been capped.
