Comparing Apples to Apples Caste Football

Player A and Player B, both juniors (Class of 2015), were each named to the Michigan high school football All-State Dream Team as running backs this season, and each led their respective teams to undefeated regular seasons before losing in the playoffs.
Player A is 5-foot-10, 205-pounds. He runs a reported high 4.4 in the 40, but he doesn’t run track so his speed could be said to be inflated. This season he rushed for 1,654 yards on 134 carries and 22 total touchdowns, after he rushed for 1,346 yards as a sophomore. He plays in Michigan’s largest classification.
Player B is 6-foot-1, 205-pounds. He runs a reported high 4.4 in the 40, and he backs that up by having run a 10.75 in the 100-meters as a sophomore. This season, he rushed for a state-record 2,962 yards on 295 carries and 36 total touchdowns, after he rushed for 2,163 yards and 27 touchdowns as a sophomore. He plays in Michigan’s second largest classification.
One of these players held scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, and Syracuse after his sophomore season and currently also holds offers from Nebraska, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Ohio State, among others. That same player is also ranked a 4-star recruit by Rivals as the #11 running back in the nation. Which player is it?
From the concise player profiles above it would seem obvious that Player B, the runner-up for Michigan Player of the Year, appears to be the better prospect. However, in the world of the Caste System, that isn’t the case.
You see, Player A is the athlete that is coveted by major programs across the country. Conversely, Player B doesn’t have a single scholarship offer to report. In fact, he doesn’t even have a Rivals profile.
If you understand the Caste System, you understand this phenomenon quite well, because Player A, Mike Weber (Detroit-Cass Tech), is black and Player B, Alex Grace (Saginaw-Swan Valley), is White.
The honest assessment skews even more in favor of Grace when you take the analysis even deeper. Weber put up his numbers on a gifted team that had 12 players sign Division I or II football scholarships in 2013 and several more are expected to sign this spring. Meanwhile, Grace put up his numbers on a team without a single (other) collegiate prospect, meaning that every team he faced knew exactly what was coming — and they still couldn’t stop him.

The “foundation” of all Black-athletic-superiority claims is built upon Black dominance in the short straight-line sprint: the 100-meter dash. It’s said that the White athlete simply can’t measure up. My position is that, while virtually EVERY fast black kid runs track, very few fast White kids do. (Again, the self-fulfilling prophecy.) The results you see on the national stage are the logical result of the differing sample sizes. That being said, despite the small numbers who go out for sprinting in Arkansas, it’s still very common to see White athletes among the fastest kids in the state.
This year, the four fastest times in the 100-meters came at the Meet of Champs, a very cool track meet that pits the State Champions from all classifications (and the top three other fastest state times) against each other head-to-head. Not surprisingly, when the best go at it, they tend to step up their game. It was no different this year.
In the boys’ 100-meters, the #1 thru #4 fastest times in the state were separated by a mere 3-hundredths of a second. First place finished in a time of 10.78 seconds, second place in 10.79, third in 10.80, and fourth in 10.81. Not only did that make for an exciting race, it defies the notion that White athletes can’t run with their Black counterparts … because third (Nick Pattillo) and fourth (Chase Lamers) place were White kids. How is that possible?
[Additionally, in terms of football recruitment, Kavin Alexander (who took second place) is considered one of the top defensive back prospects in the state, primarily because of his speed. He stands 5-feet-7 and is already a jacked-up 185-pounds. Conversely, Chase Lamers (fourth place) is not being recruited at all despite being one of the top free safeties in the state and measuring in at 6-foot-2 and a rail-thin 175. Which athlete would seem to have the more physical potential to improve?]
Similar results are found in the other sprint events, as well.
In the 200-meters White athletes have the second-fastest (Sain-Thomas Mathew, 22.20) and third-fastest (Chase Lamers, 22.22) times in the state.
In the 400-meters, Sain-Thomas Mathew (a junior) posted the #1 fastest time in the state, 48.37 seconds.
Likewise, White runners had the fastest times in the 800-meters (Noah Findlay, 1:55.94), in the 1600-meters (Grant Williams, 4:20.05), and the 3200-meters (Brendan Taylor, 9:12.43). The top two hurdlers in the state were also White. Spencer Sullivan posted the top time in the 300-meter hurdles (39.42) and the #3 in the 110-meter hurdles (15.00). Clint Ligon posted the second fastest time in both the 110-meter hurdles (14.87) and the 300-meter hurdles (39.80).
The field events were completely dominated this year by White athletes … even in the “Black” jumping events. Damian Blossom soared to the top mark in the high jump (6 feet, 8.00 inches). Brandon Workman is clearly a blue-collar athlete, as he flew to the top mark in the long jump (23 feet 1.75 inches). Nate Gneiting, an “overachieving” defensive back on the football field, stood alone on the triple jump, leaping a full 6 inches further than the nearest competition (46 feet, 1.25 inches).

And yet the general public still is told by implication on every sports network that white athletes are just not fast enough.

An anomaly in a sport that in 2004 features no white running backs on active NFL rosters, two white starters among the 117 Division I-A college programs and precious few legitimate I-A prospects in the nation's high schools.
This year, last year, 10 years ago -- little has changed.
That is what had reporters accentuating the pigment of the situation as Forsey sat at his locker last season.
"There were a lot of questions about, 'Is it surprising you came out and had a great game and you're white?'" Forsey remembers now. "I didn't think they'd actually come and throw it out there like that."
Reporters wondered at the irony (and oddity) of Kordell Stewart, a black quarterback, handing off to a white running back. On the other side of Soldier Field, Arizona running back Emmitt Smith, the NFL's career rushing leader, answered a question about Forsey by invoking the name of a Bears icon. A white one.
"You mean Brian Piccolo?" Smith deadpanned.
Through it all, Forsey's agent, Derrick Fox, was fielding offers on his cell phone. It seemed everyone wanted an interview: ESPN, The Sporting News, Chicago talk radio. Fox had seen it coming. "We had talked about it," he says.
Fox's client had given the people something to talk about, if only for a moment. The next week, Forsey carried three times for minus-4 yards in a loss at Green Bay. He didn't get the ball the rest of the season. Order was restored.
"They can't compete with us," says Eric Dickerson, the NFL's all-time single-season rushing leader, who dominated with the Los Angeles Rams during the 1980s. "The black athlete, especially at that position, is faster, more elusive. That's just a position made for agility.
"That's kind of like our chosen position."
As brash as Dickerson sounds, statistics are on his side:
Since Craig James ran for 1,227 yards and was voted to the Pro Bowl in 1985, 95 running backs have combined for 235 1,000-yard rushing performances over those 18 years. None has been white.
While minorities make up more than 70 percent of the NFL, running back is even more exclusive. In 2003, 98 percent of the NFL's running backs were minorities. The NFL kicked off the 2004 season Thursday night, but today marks the traditional opening weekend, and none of the 32 teams has a white tailback as a first- or second-teamer. Forsey? He was cut last week by the Bears.
A white running back hasn't led the NFL in rushing since Green Bay's Jim Taylor ran for 1,474 yards in 1962 or been drafted in the first round since Penn State's John Cappelletti was chosen 11th overall by the Rams in 1974.

White players are actively discriminated against in most professional sports, but especially football. Let’s take one example: the stereotypically black position of wide receiver. In the 2013 Draft, of the 254 players selected, 28 were receivers (11 percent). Of those 28 receivers selected, only one was a white athlete—Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope, who ran the second fastest 40-yard-dash for a receiver at the NFL Combine, at 4.34.
He was selected in the sixth round, despite being one of the top receivers in college football, projected as a third or fourth round pick.
Another overlooked white receiver: Conner Vernon, the record-setting star from Duke University. He wasn’t drafted, although he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Oakland Raiders. This means he will be forced to compete for a roster spot.
Vernon’s problems began in high school. He was a fervent fan of his hometown University of Miami, but his favorite team ignored him, as did just about everyone else. The reason is something that “white privilege” ideologues can’t explain:
Despite his accomplishments and the seven other members of his class getting Division I attention, Vernon still had no offers and had yet to get a call from a Football Bowl Subdivision school.

Shane Vernon, who received offers from FCS or Division II schools, has another theory.
“I knew the stereotypes and stigmas that were in football,” he said. “I got to learn it the hard way. It’s an uphill battle, and you have this white boy stigma. It’s always there, no matter how good you are, what you do, it will always be there, so you’ve just got to stand out that much more.”
Vernon stood out during spring football before his senior year. He was named the sleeper of the Under Armour/Scout combine after he ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash.

Despite Vernon’s accomplishments, not one Florida college offered him a scholarship coming out of high school. Only Duke, the University of Mississippi, Vanderbilt, Troy and Wake Forest approached one of the best high school players in the country.
It didn’t stop him. While at Duke, Vernon became the most productive receiver in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history, posting multiple seasons of 70+ catches.
Nonetheless, this weekend, Vernon wasn’t even drafted....
Both Welker and Decker are white wide receivers for the Denver Broncos. They’ll be catching a lot of footballs in 2013 thrown by Peyton Manning. Peyton’s brother Eli of the NY Giants commented casually of Vernon, “He does have some talent, so it’ll be interesting to see if he does get a shot somewhere.”

Why would Vernon’s abilities be so lightly dismissed? Well, the same reason the Green Bay Packers Jordy Nelson wasn’t treated as a big threat – he’s a white guy trying to play a position long dominated by black athletes [Teammates say Jordy Nelson is underestimated because he’s white, Pro Football Talk, November 19, 2011].
According to TIDES Sports, only 13 percent of those employed as wide receivers in the NFL last season were white; 87 percent were black. The NFL as a whole is roughly 67 percent black and 30 percent white. Since 1998, each season roughly 90-91 percent of those employed as receivers in the NFL have been black athletes.
Nonetheless, every year it seems another white receiver displays “some talent”—to use Eli Manning’s term—and becomes fodder for a quick Man Bites Dog news story:
