These little intolerant bigots came upon Ann Curry, and saved her ass.
I'm surprised they didn't rape and kill her. Fucking haters.

Boy Scouts rescued injured NBC journalist Ann Curry off New York mountainThe journalist thanked the scouts of New Jersey’s Troop 368 in a letter for building a splint and stretcher and carrying her down Harriman State Park’s Bear Mountain on April 5

There’s a merit badge for that.

The scouts of Troop 368 had no idea that the injured hiker they carried down Harriman State Park’s Bear Mountain with a crafted splint and stretcher was television journalist Ann Curry.

The scouts of Berkeley Heights, N.J., hiked upon the stranded news woman and her family on April 5 as she sat on the ground,*according to Scouting Magazine. The troop was about to pass her by when a concerned scout asked Curry if she was okay.

“No, not really,” Curry said. “I think I broke my ankle.”

IT's not the kids who were the problem, it was the religious nuts who hijacked the national organization for a few years.

Of course, the thing that should really depress Curry is no one knew who she was.

The Boy Scouts have always had a Religious component to them, it isn't a new invention.

NO, but the whacky homophobia was something new.

Once again, Joe exposes his rank ignorance and knee-jerk religious bigotry for all to see.

Whatta maroon!

Actually no. Current progressive culture has become accepting of homosexuality, but the Boy Scouts position on it hasn't changed.

Its OK if you support something, just don't make up crap about the other side all of a sudden changing its position when its other people who have changed their minds.

No, you see, the real problem was that the Mormon Church infiltrated the BSA.

But that's okay, the GOP let the Mormon Cult hijack their nomination process, and we all see how well that turned out for you, right?

Actually, back in the 1970's, the Boy Scout handbook told scout leaders to not discuss issues of marriage or sexuality because THEY WEREN'T QUALIFIED to do so.

It was only after the Mormons started trying to push their nonsense did the position ch ange.

Boy Scouts of America - RationalWiki

Due in no small part to the influence of the Mormon and Roman Catholic churches,[1] the BSA forbids membership to atheists, agnostics, and gays. Openly gay boys will be allowed to become scouts from January 2014 but openly gay men will still be forbidden to volunteer. [2]. In contrast, the Girl Scouts of America does not require members to swear an oath with a religious component.

Many boys and adults have been prevented from joining or expelled from the BSA for refusing to swear an oath before God. In one case, the father of 11-year-old Emory Saladin was dismissed as a Cub Scout leader for refusing to sign a religious declaration. Saladin said the officials involved "kind of felt like people who didn't believe in God didn't deserve to live".[3] The BSA's discrimination against gays and atheists has led to the formation of "Scouting for All," a group that advocates a change in the BSA's membership rules.[4][5]

Discrimination against atheist children who do not want to take a religious oath is historically not unknown in other scouting movements, such as the UK's.[6] As of October 2013, the Scout Association in the UK introduced an atheist version of the Scout Promise.[7]

There are indeed other scouting or outdoor organizations that have no religious component. But the Boy Scouts of America always have.

For a very long time the BSA manual forbade masturbation. I'm pretty sure that, if you can't play with your own, playing with another scout's or your scout master's is frowned upon.

Great job by the scouts

They take their First Aid seriously

Back then it wasn't an issue because gay rights wasn't a mainstream issue. Now that progressives have forced the matter, (and the issue of that being right or wrong isn't part of this debate) that then forced other organizations, such as scouts or the churches to make official positions known, even if the positions were known de facto for decades.

The position didn't change, it became more public knowledge, and then the progressive desire to quash any viewpoint that opposes the groupthink kicked in, and voila, the scouts are now "evil."

That and progressives have sexualized just about everything under the sun anymore.

Jerks cannot leave even the most wholesome and positively influencing of organizations like Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts alone.

Baden Powell wrote "Scouting for Boys" he was in my opinion a repressed paedophile as imo are most of the scoutmasters.
