Homeowner sees strangers as trespassers. Not Law & Justice or 2nd Amendment Forums: “Oh s---, my gun went off, I want to speak with my lawyer."

Imagine someone jumping your fence and entering your property.
Happened more than once. My dog went nuts. Guy was a meter reader or something. I had to get out there to let them know my huge pup was not dangerous and was well trained. Instinct had him chase, but he knew better. He knew I was there.

The question remains, is it a normal expectation to be killed in America for doing so?

Many questions remain.

Abnormal is the new normal in America.

they jumped the fence and when no one answered they explored the property. Then returned to the car to write a note asking for permission to use the property.

Hardly worth the cops and definitely not something to be shot over. The councilman is in big trouble rightly so.
Stupidity on both sides here. Fences mean KEEP OUT and the councilman will face charges because he had the gun even though he says it was an accident.
