I suspect that there was contact between the Trump campaign and reps of the Russian gov't, along with many other major gov'ts. Same as there was with the Clinton campaign and every other presidential campaign in recent times. Foreign gov'ts want to get an inside, up close and personal look at the person, they probably know a lot about Trump as a business man but not so much as a politician. But that's a long way from saying there was collusion or illegal activity on anybody's part to sway the election.
