This morning, I read an interesting article about the Obama years describing how he did a great job. I don't agree with everything on that list, and I won't post it here because that's not the point.
But in the past, here and elsewhere, I've seen people say the opposite. These comments usually say something like, "I'm glad that reign of terror is over" or "I got tired of suffering under Obama."
Which leads to the question: How did you suffer under the Obama presidency? What did Obama do (or not do) that directly impacted you negatively? This isn't about vague things like "he embarrassed the office" or "he's a socialist Muslim, that's why." Instead, can you explain anything specific that hurt you or your family/friends in some way?
DISCLAIMER: Yes, I'm mostly liberal. I will be respectful to those who disagree with me if they are respectful. I won't if you won't.
I saved the best for last. When I enter a new forum, I usually read the OP and then read the posts backwards so I don't reiterate a point already made. So how did DumBama effect me personally? Where do I start?
Like millions of others, I lost my healthcare insurance for the first time in my life, and I'm 57 years old now. My employer cited Commie Care as the reason. He found an opportunity to get rid of a problem he didn't want to deal with, and even if he continued to provide that benefit, his insurance company gave him a heads up on how much higher premiums would be in the coming years thanks to Commie Care.
I couldn't afford Commie Care coverage because I made too much. Commie Care was designed to take care of likely Democrat voters at the expense of likely Republican voters. So I was screwed and still am.
Looking for a company that still had healthcare coverage, I found that others in my field of work did exactly as my employer did.
Next is DumBama's attacks on our financial institutions. Like many Americans, I carry debt. That was not a problem before DumBama. Because of my outstanding credit history, I always got 0% interest on my credit cards for at least a year. When the year was up, I simply transferred the balance to another 0% interest card for a year.
After DumBama attacked the credit card institutions, they had to recoup their losses somewhere, and that somewhere was their good responsible customers (likely Republican voters). Now when I transfer a balance, I have to pay a transfer fee which is a couple hundred dollars or so.
My job: Under DumBama, his minions in the bureaucracies created egregious regulations on us truck drivers. One of the first things they did was prohibit us from using phones in the truck, and that included two-way communications like Nextel used to have; speaking of which, Nextel went out of business after they created that regulation. The fine for even holding a cell phone in your hand is $3,000.00 and that's just for the first offense. Additional offenses have increased penalties.
As a landlord, I spend some time on my phone trying to work and conduct my personal business at the same time. I still do in spite of the laws, but now, I risk losing $3,000 just for doing the same thing I did before DumBama became President.
Then they changed the physical requirements. As a person with preexisting conditions, I need my doctor to sign a medical waiver so I can continue working. The government outlawed that under DumBama. Now you can only get a physical and medical exemption from a government approved doctor who doesn't treat or follow your condition. They don't want to sign anything that can make them liable in case I get into an accident or something. So now I struggle trying to find somebody to do this for me, and the government is damn near ending my career thanks to regulations created under DumBama.
Is that enough for you???
