The machine generates the audit trail, otherwise you have no log and no record.

The machines create a record of how a vote was cast. But not who cast it.

Folks run the voter registry confirm a person is authorized to vote and then send them toward a voting booth. The voting machine collects no information about the identity of the individual voting.

EMH's crazy plan is to force the officials of VA7 to hunt down *every single voter* who cast a ballot and have them re-vote, on the record, making it public who they voted for.

Despite zero evidence of fraud.
