…but that’d be a first!
1.This is what I had in mind: Liberals are fearful folks, and need the reassurance of being part of a mob, a crowd, a group. There is a well-known phrase that memorializes the idea: Lock-Step Liberal. And Lock-stepping has an uncanny similarity to ‘Goose-stepping,’ and we all know what that refers to, the National Socialist Workers Party….er, I mean the Democrat Party.
2. Liberals, in my experience, are fearful folks who need the bodyguard of big government because they are vulnerable, battered emotional hypochondriacs....they need to insure themselves against every societal misadventure that could occur. They call that 'empathy,' but it's actually neurosis. They have some sort of metaphorical bullet lodged near their heart, just waiting for a slight move which will end it all! Thus, the overwhelming feeling of incipient failure, and apprehension. And, recognizing their own weakness, they lash out at those willing to depend on themselves.
3. Coulter put it this way: “The mob mentality is irresistible to people with a desperate need to be popular, and are perennially afraid of getting a bloody nose on the playground of life. A tell-tale sign is the use of terms like “us” and “we” when they write, or speak…as these pronouns speak of popularity, of membership in the larger group…i.e. the mob.”
4. People desperate for a badge of identity are highly susceptible to groupthink, in fierce need of a ‘guide,’ and, so, the “foolish, ignorant, and envious persons are freed from the sense of their insignificance and powerlessness.”
Le Bon, “The Crowd: A Study of The Popular Mind,” p.22.
5. They abhor standing up by themselves and elucidating their beliefs, and their most common statement about beliefs is something like, “yeah….me too!!”
Two things one never comes across is a. a Liberal who can defend and explain the doctrines put forth by their party, and b. one ready to offer several books that have formed his geopolitical outlook.
But they love, love, love being able to point to the throng to which they belong, and claim…”all of us, that’s what we all believe!” Cogs in the big wheel of Liberalism.
The aggregation is their authentication, consensus validates their existence, belonging is what their lives are about….and they know what will happen to them if they digress.
Now, here’s why the above is pertinent. While conservatives are 180° opposite the above characteristics, the result is that we on the Right champion individualism, and those described above, the Left, favor collectivism, group-think, following orders.
And it boils down to this: If Liberals are in power, we become a collectivist, socialist nation.
If conservatives are in power.....freedom and liberty.
