I just got back from voting for The Donald and it was the best vote I ever cast!

To see The Donald and Mike Pence on that ballot was great. I filled in the circle which was not easy on the stupid little desk they have that are like 3 feet off the floor. I also voted for a local state senator because she got in my face, and with conviction said she was MY senator, and commented on my wearing shorts when it was 32 degrees out. :p
I agree, seeing Donald Trump on the ballot and clicking his name along with hittjng cast ballot was awesome. Ive never been more excited or proud to vote for someone in my life

Now, now. This is your precious democracy at work here. Suck it up and bow to the will of We the People.

It's not mine. I've been saying the Electoral College is a horrible idea for some time now.

Dance, dance, dance. .... I've been warning you this would happen; that all the power you cheer for when your goons are running things would bite you in the ass when the other side took control. You've been arguing for in-your-face, authoritarian government for years. You're not going to change your tune now are you?

No, I'm not.

Just like I'm not going to think the left wing Socialist hippies are right, I'm not going to think the Right Wing Libertarian hippies are right.

The problem isn't going to be Trump's policies, it's going to be his incompetence that is going to be the problem. The country is going to go bankrupt faster than one of his casinos.

No, I'm not.

Good to hear. I don't want to hear any whining when Trump's fascists start clamping down on your freedom.

Yes it is true more popular vote for her...the way for a élection is différent in France.

We should do it that way in this country... that's the problem.

INstead we do it the way we do it and end up with guys like Trump and Bush who we all knew were bad news.
What strange for me is that they say that the one who win Florida become the next président it's confusing they win 29 and i was asking my self if Hillary could actualy win she took California and she gain 55 in one shot

Okay, here's why that's the case.

California was never in doubt where those 55 votes were going to go. They've gone to the Democrat in the last 7 elections, and the Republican Party is a non-factor in California.

We have this bizarre system called an Electoral College that allocates electors based on number of members of Congress, plus 3 electors for the district of Columbia (even though it is not a state). Which means small states like Wyoming and Alaska have outsized representation.

So effectively, Trump won because he barely won a series of "Swing States"- states that are usually close every election. He won Wisconsin by a mere 80,000 votes. But that was enough to give him all 11 electors there. There really are only about 10 Swing States. Most of the rest always vote one way or the other.

It's a backwards, idiotic system we should have rid ourselves of decades ago, but until recently, it really didn't matter because the person who won the popular vote also won the EC.

I hope that clears it up for you.

Thank it is very particular your election ..Hillary lost a lot of the key state that could give her more votes.
Ohio, Florida , Texas, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, etc.. strange because CNN seem pretty sure of some states Hillary was going to win.

Election analytics website FiveThirtyEight identifies the states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan,Minnesota, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin

.i did follow the explanation on the magic wall about what could happen

Cool, the neo fascists have spoken. Does anyone have anything to offer other than pity for these poor fools?

No...you are mistaken.....those voting for Trump are not the fascists...the fascists are the democrats...as they have shown in the Wikileaks, their behavior and in the videos where they confessed to inciting violence and committing voter fraud on a massive scale....
Agree and they are showing it by not accepting that Trump is they Président we see it in the streets...They should grow up a little bit.

And that was the problem. The states she thought she had in the bag didn't show up.

Now part of that was voter suppression, where they've been denying minorities the right to vote. Part of that was people didn't show up.

We are all going to pay for it for years.

The problem with Clinton's campaign was that they were so eager to run against Trump because they thought all they'd have to do is point and laugh. So that's mostly what they did. They didn't try to understand why so many people were supporting for him. If they had, they might have noticed that the smug condescension expressed in their criticisms of Trump is exactly the reason people voted for him. Most of us made the exact same mistake. .

YOu mean she made the mistake of thinking most Americans weren't racists and misogynists? Yeah, maybe that was wishful thinking.

Of course, more people actually did vote for her.
