"I wonder why whites feel under attack?"
There’s no reason for some whites to believe so, given the fact whites are not ‘under attack.’
Of course there are some ignorant, hateful white conservatives who seek to propagate the ‘under attack’ lie for some perceived partisan gain, as red meat for the rightwing base, and to stoke the baseless fears of Republican voters.
Opposing white conservatives’ efforts to discriminate against gay and transgender Americans is not to ‘attack’ whites.
Opposing white conservatives’ efforts to discriminate against Muslim Americans is not to ‘attack’ whites.
Opposing white conservatives’ efforts to discriminate against minority voters is not to ‘attack’ whites.
Opposing white conservatives’ efforts to discriminate against immigrants is not to ‘attack’ whites.
Indeed, that the Constitution and its case law prohibit white conservatives from engaging in discrimination is not to ‘attack’ whites.
