In a Republic, actually
‘A group of voters from Illinois asked the state board of elections Thursday to remove Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot, making it the most recent state where the former president faces a challenge to his candidacy under the 14th Amendment’s so-called insurrectionist ban.

[…]

“Donald J. Trump, through his words and actions, after swearing an oath as an officer of the United States to support the Constitution, engaged in insurrection or rebellion, or gave aid and comfort to its enemies, as defined by Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment,” the voters wrote in their petition to the board of elections.’

Let the states decide, the Supreme Court shouldn’t interfere.

:oops8:

No standing due to no harm.

The President is not an officer, the President commissions all officer per Article II.

The oath a President takes is completely different from the oath Congress and officers etc. take.

The anti-American Party never stops chewing at the foundations of the USA. They are like termites infesting a house.

A "group of voters"?

3,471,915 Illinois voters voted for Biden in 2020, while 2,446,891 Illinois voters voted for Trump.

So how big is this "group" of Illinois voters? What was their political alignment, how many of them are Republicans, etc?

You don't know, do you? The article says "The party affiliation of the voters, if any, was not listed", so if you ask me, you're just spewing more bullshit.

Now tell me this: Why do you feel the states should have precedence over the federal government and ignore the Supreme Court, C_Clayton_Jones? Gee, for someone who surreptitiously displays the Bill of Rights as an avatar, you sure post like some kind of a Constitution-defying Confederate secessionist or something.

Gawd, you're so full of shit. Do you really think anyone's buying your crap? :laughing0301:

Count on more states to do the same.

The right wing SCOTUS may well make that claim …. If they take the case.

If they don’t Trump is in trouble

This is spreading
