I'm confused. If Trump is not being investigated for a crime, why the need for special counsel?

The statement has been that the individual, trump WAS not under investigation but that his campaign was. The investigation of the campaign included trump. Currently, the individual, trump is under investigation for obstruction of justice, which he confessed to. And his attempts at a cover up.

We need a contest to guess the date of and the identity of the person who makes a deal to take down trump in order to avoid prison. It seems obvious it will be Flynn because we already know he's guilty of at least one felony - lying to FBI and intel agencies and accepted money from foreign govt.

IMO, it's pretty much a given that Putin bought trump and that was the reason for so many (including trump) lying about trips and relationships with Russia.
