Immigration Bill A Secret No More

From a web search, it’s clear there are so many exceptions in the senate bill that it’s designed to be meaningless.

What a laughable joke.

Most of the senate bill has exceptions and exemptions such that, “a process approved by the Secretary”.

Great! The weird little Martian currently hustling illegals into the county will have authority to do so at a faster rate.

What a laughable joke.

(3) ACTIVATIONS OF AUTHORITY.—
‘‘(A) DISCRETIONARY ACTIVATION.—The Secretary may activate the border emergency authority if, during a period of 7 consecutive calendar days, there is an average of 4,000 or more aliens who are encountered each day.
(B) MANDATORY [emphasis added] ACTIVATION.—The Secretary shall activate the border emergency authority if—
‘‘(i) during a period of 7 consecutive calendar days, there is an average of 5,000 or more aliens who are encountered each day; or
‘‘(ii) on any 1 calendar day, a combined total of 8,500 or more aliens are encountered.
But on page 117, the text lists exceptions to the “mandatory” trigger, including a catch-all — “a process approved by the Secretary” exemption:

(C) An unaccompanied alien child.
(D) An alien who an immigration officer determines, with the approval of a supervisory immigration officer, should be excepted from the border emergency authority based on the totality of the circumstances …
(F) An alien who has a valid visa or other lawful permission to enter the United States, including— … (iv) an alien who presents at a port of entry pursuant to a process approved by the Secretary to allow for safe and orderly entry into the United States.

And it is as we have been saying. The most forceful immigration bill in decades.

Will Republicans sign on to this? They claim they want the border “fixed”. Well here is that fix.
/----/ That "certain number of illegals" crossing the border is 5,000 a day. Who are you trying to kid?

Besides, we don't need no stinkin' border bill.

The White House, corporate media, and even Senate Republicans claim Democrats’ open-border amnesty bill, which does more to secure Ukraine than the U.S., is the only way to successfully curb the influx of more than 10 million illegal border crossers. The real power to end the record-breaking Southern border crisis, however, lies with President Joe Biden, who previously used his executive authority to undo all of his predecessor’s border safeguards. He simply isn’t wielding it.

But former president and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has reportedly put pressure on Republicans to torpedo the deal so that he can continue using the border crisis as a line of attack in his campaign.

In a Sunday interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Johnson denied that Trump had any outside influence: “He’s not calling the shots. I am calling the shots for the House.” :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: ;) ;) :laughing0301: ;) ;) :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: ;) ;) :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: :laughing0301: ;) ;)

Mike better apologize for saying that or Don will have him voted out of the Speaker's position.

How does Trump’s disapproval make the bill worth a crap? It seems as though the only criteria you nimrods have is anything Trump and Republicans hate must be good and anything the Democrats(and our enemies) love must be good. Pure idiocy.

My god this filthy ass bill is nothing more than filthy ass welfare.

By the way, that money for the border is not to protect the border but to provide money to facilitate the goddamn Illegals getting in.

We are $34 trillion in debt. Why are we borrowing money to give to other people?

Absolutely despicable!

In addition to $20.23 billion for border security, the bill included $60.06 billion to support Ukraine in its war with Russia, $14.1 billion in security assistance for Israel, $2.44 billion to U.S. Central Command and the conflict in the Red Sea, and $4.83 billion to support U.S. partners in the Indo-Pacific facing aggression from China, according to figures from Senator Patty Murray, who chairs the Senate's Appropriation Committee.

An additional $10 billion would provide humanitarian assistance for civilians in conflict zones including in Ukraine, Gaza and the West Bank, although the bill includes a provision barring its funds from going to the U.N. agency for Palestinians, UNRWA. The Biden administration and other nations have paused funding to the agency over allegations that some of its staff were involved in Hamas' Oct. 7 attacks in southern Israel.

"The priorities in this bill are too important to ignore and too vital to allow politics to get in the way," Schumer said in a statement. “The United States and our allies are facing multiple, complex and, in places, coordinated challenges from adversaries who seek to disrupt democracy and expand authoritarian influence around the globe.

circumstances …

Section (F) would exempt the “parole” migrants that Biden’s flunkies are importing despite the existing laws.

In 2023, Biden’s flunkies imported one million parole migrants who would not be covered by the border shutdown.

We have elected dumbass asshole representatives that will take our tax money and put our children in debt so that the money can be given away as welfare to the rest of the world.

The dumbasses are us for electing those sonofabitch.

Lankford defends bipartisan border security bill after attacks by Trump, GOP

“This bill focuses on getting us to zero illegal crossings a day. There’s no amnesty. It increases the number of Border Patrol agents, increases asylum officers, it increases detention beds so we can quickly detain and then deport individuals,” Lankford said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“It focuses on additional deportation flights out. It changes our asylum process so that people get a fast asylum screening at a higher standard and then get returned back to their home country,” Lankford added.
Lankford called out his colleagues for bowing to political pressure, noting that four months ago Republicans refused to grant funding for Ukraine, Israel and the southern border until there were policy changes.

“So we actually locked arms together and said we’re not going to give you money for this. We want a change in law,” Lankford said. “When we’re finally going to the end, they’re like, ‘Oh, just kidding. I actually don’t want a change in law because it’s a presidential election year.’ We all have an oath to the Constitution and we have a commitment to say we’re going to do whatever we can to be able to secure the border.”

This is extremely straight forward. The bill goes a long way to addressing the issues at the border Repubs have been highlighting. Trump doesn't want to take immigration off the table as a cudgel against Biden so he told House Repubs to block the bill's passage. Full stop.

He is wrong. I don’t agree with every politician on my side of the aisle on every issue, otherwise I would be a Democrat.

You're going to need a new billboard and avatar soon, asshole.

As a non-binary, non-duopolist observer, it does seem absurd that so many virulently debated elements should have been combined in one piece of legislation. To all appearances, it was conceived (by the duopoly) to fail.

/-----/ There is no need for the bill. Dementia Joe has all the power he needs. He just doesn't want to fix it.

Again, we’ll see if Republicans actually want to address the border or do nothing so they can use ‘the border’ as a partisan wedge issue.

It will likely be the latter.
Well since the idiotic dems, have allowed it to be an issue since day one of the Biden admin, they are the ones playing politics, by trying to force a bad bill through right before an election, with horrible garbage in it to place blame elsewhere, that is what they always do!

If Democrats can stop the flow, why do they allow any additional ones to enter? Does that make any sense to you?

Only low info folks will fall for this crap…but the again, that is a large portion of the Democratic base.
