You misspelled stonewalling.

It was 16 * * MONTHS * * after he left office when he received the federal subpoena to return documents. He conspired to hide documents in order not to comply with the court order. There is not "negotiations" after 16 months.

Two months later after it was discovered he didn't comply with the subpoena, the FBI executed a Search Warrant authorized by a court of law. The search was (a) not illegal, and (b) not a "raid".
