Impeach Obama If He Strikes Syria

"Carter was the least violent of American presidents but he did things which I think would certainly fall under Nuremberg provisions. As the Indonesian atrocities increased to a level of really near-genocide, the U.S. aid under Carter increased. It reached a peak in 1978 as the atrocities peaked. So we took care of Carter, even forgetting other things.

"Reagan. It's not a question. I mean, the stuff in Central America alone suffices. Support for the Israeli invasion of Lebanon also makes Saddam Hussein look pretty mild in terms of casualties and destruction. That suffices.

If the Nuremberg Laws were Applied..., by Noam Chomsky (Talk delivered around 1990)

Multiple polls show US citizens opposed to more war for the New Middle East.
If Obama chooses the forces of "creative chaos" over the will of a majority of US voters, he should pay the ultimate political price for his arrogance. (And spend the rest of his life in a 6' by 10' cell)

Fortunately you and others on the right can’t be compelled to pay a price for your ignorance.

‘Arrogance’ is not an impeachable offense.

And the president would be acting legally and constitutionally should he order a strike over Congress’ objection.

We may not like these facts but they’re the facts nonetheless.

if 60% of the House and 60% of the Senate votes for no military action against Syria and Obama attacks anyways, I will support impeachment.

Chomsky is a brilliant linguist, but just another hysterical old crank 'performing' for self-congratulatory academics and sycophantic nuthuggers like you when it comes to politics.

You voted for Obama twice so you say. You are in the same boat as Georgie. You worship arabs because you have a common enemy.....JOOOOS.

I don't worship Arabs.

The "Joos" aren't my enemy.

You sir, are an idiot.

The Day an American President is thrown into jail?

Will be the day Democracy ends in America.

Bank on that.

This was supposed to be a Republic genius but the masses have learned with the help of the democrats that they can vote their way in to free shit from the treasury and lead useless lives breeding future parasites.

.

Jeez, here we go again.

I wish we could go at least a few weeks without impeachment talk.

He has the authority to make this terrible decision. I still hope he doesn't (and I doubt that he would if Congress says "no", but who knows), but enough already.

.
I hear he's now back on the peace path again and is backing away from the idea of a strike. The alleged rebels are methodically destroying Christian communities and are losing popularity with both Houses of Congress, plus there are some really unhappy people in the EU as well.

Unfortunately we’ll be hearing ‘impeachment talk’ until the end of the president's second term.

Like both Bushes and Clintons this president serves 1% of Americans at the expense of the majority of Americans; in the case of Syria, 53% of Americans are telling Obama to refrain from maiming, murdering, and displacing more innocent Muslims. If he ignores that mandate, he deserves impeachment and worse.

I'm not sufficiently ignorant to believe "choosing" between Republican OR Democrat changes the behavior of the Greatest Purveyor of Violence on the Planet. Why are you ?

I find it amusing reading the dismissive musings of our resident know-nothings when the name Noam Chomsky is mentioned.
