In what alternative universe? Gas is nowhere near below $2/gallon, asswipe

Liberals still don't understand economics. I could explain it, but it's right in the OP's article.

But excluding volatile food and energy costs, “core” prices, a gauge of underlying inflation, remained elevated in September, driven higher by rising costs for medical care and car insurance. Core prices in September were up 3.3% from a year earlier and 0.3% from August. Economists closely watch core prices, which typically provide a better hint of future inflation.

That is your biggest expense? I doubt it. You can go for drill baby drill, of course we are already out producing any other country on earth, so drill baby drill does not seem to be the answer, chosen by the petroleum industry in any country on the planet. One could be forgiven for thinking that industry, finds it more profitable to not out produce the demand.

CPI Report: Inflation Rose More Than Expected in September

The Numbers

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest reading of the consumer price index this morning.
The September figures, at a glance:
YoY: 2.4% increase in September from a year ago vs. 2.3% expected
MoM: 0.2% increase in September from August vs. 0.1% expected
Core YoY: 3.3% increase in September from a year ago vs. 3.2% expected
Core MoM: 0.3% increase in September from August vs. 0.2% increase expected

Hey, don't worry about food and energy.

Far leftists say you will be happy eating bugs, so catch your own food.

And since climate alarmists tell us the world is on fire, you won't need that heating oil this winter.

This is one of the best assessmenmts about gas prices that I have read here.

You trump supporters should stop lying. The prices woud be the same, if not more, if Trump was president. Gas was cheap during the pandemic. Because nobody was driving.

Not good news for consumers.

Topline

Consumer prices rose faster than economists forecasted last month for the first time since March, posing a potential obstacle to the yearslong fight to return to 2% inflation.

The same thing would be hppening if trump was president.
