Iran Bans U.S. Inspectors from All Nuclear Sites

No Americans permitted under final nuclear deal

U.S. and Iranian officials confirmed Thursday that no American nuclear inspectors will be permitted to enter the country’s contested nuclear site under the parameters of a deal reached with world powers this week, according to multiple statements by American and Iranian officials.

Under the tenants of the final nuclear deal reached this week in Vienna, only countries with normal diplomatic relations with Iran will be permitted to participate in inspections teams organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The revelation of this caveat has attracted concern from some analysts who maintain that only American experts can be trusted to verify that Iran is not cheating on the deal and operating clandestine nuclear facilities.

The admission is the latest in a series of apparent concessions made by the United States to Iran under the deal. Other portions of the agreement include a promise by the United States to help Iran combat nuclear sabotage and threats to its program.

“Iran will increase the number of designated IAEA inspectors to the range of 130-150 within 9 months from the date of the implementation of the JCPOA, and will generally allow the designation of inspectors from nations that have diplomatic relations with Iran, consistent with its laws and regulations,” the deal states, according to text released by the Russians and Iranians.

Susan Rice, President Obama’s national security adviser, confirmed this in an interview with CNN.

We knew something like this was coming, didn't we?

That's because the agreement is between Iran and Six (06) Nations, not just the United States. International Inspectors will be allowed access to any Iran Government Nuclear Research Facility.

The 64-Day Rule applies to Military Bases only.

The United States is only ONE (01) Signatory to the Iran deal. Under the current ageement(s) between th 5+1 and Iran, the United Nations will investigaory powers, not just one nation.

That is Cons do not ever understand, it is not JUST ONE COUNTRY DEALING IRAN BUT SIX....FOR THOSE WHO ARE DEAD FROM THE NECK UP AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE NUMBER 6 THAT IS NUMBER THAT ONE GREATER THAN FIVE AND ONE LESS THAN SEVEN.

For those that don't understand that the US is one of the six and 1 of every 6 inspectors on the IAEA inspection team should be American.

Is it me or does it strike anyone else as odd that Americans think they have the right to inspect someone else?

They have a choice, inspections to get bombed back to the stone age for being a murderous sponsor of terrorism.
When are you going to bomb them?

Obama will as soon as they violate the agreement. I heard him say military action was the only alternative. Did you miss that? Than again, that might have been another of his meaningless red lines.

Our greatest ally Israel will take care of them, with the Saudis backing them from behind the scenes.

If they don't stop the program now, it will escalate into a nuclear arms race. Already, Sunni Arab states like Saudi Arabia and Jordan are talking about nuclear technology to counter Iran.
So you agree we should inspect Israel then?

Just as soon as Israel shouts Death to America the inspectors should go in.
They already tried but Israel told them they cant inspect without permission.

As a paying member of the UN and a member of the Security Counsel, The IAEA should select US inspectors to go to Iran. We do have a vested interest in seeing to it that they do not violate the agreement. I would hate for Obama to bomb Iran based on the word of a Norwegian.

This 'Deal' will ultimately lead to conflict. Why are some nations allowed to have Nukes, while others aren't? All nations have equal rights. Why should Iran or any other nation be forced to submit to such inspections? It's a pretty good temporary deal for Iran, but it is only temporary.

Bush threatened Iran & North Korea causing them both to build nuclear weapons on his watch.

This is the US's problem.THEY have chosen for 30 + years to have no diplomatic relations with Iran. Don't blame Iran for doing this. Congrats to both sides getting this deal done.
