IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family

Looks like nationalized healthcare is the only solution

No, the other option is repeal, which as more of this starts to hurt the lower and middle class, support for that will increase.

Of course, a national health care system is the long term goal of ObamaCare, which we all said, and you all denied, in the first place. The president wants to purposely bankrupt the health care industry and middle class families in order to gin up support for more nanny state government.

That's what I didn't like about Obamacare, it does nothing about the continuation of the drastic rises in healthcare insurance.
Between 1999-2009, healthcare insurance went up 131% while wages only grew by 38% during that same time period!

Increases in healthcare expenditures:
2003 8.6%
2004 6.9%
2005 6.5%
2006 6.7%
2007 6.1%
Compare to 10.5% in 1970 and 13% in 1980

You must be thinking of the costs of education.....

Leftists often make that mistake.

Health care expenditures are the same as health insurance premiums?

Don't Republicans believe "education is for snobs"?

Funny, in every one of those years, medical bills were the number one cause of bankruptcy.

Actually, the attached chart is the result of Kaiser Family Foundation and the Bureau of Labor Statistics data. That data shows a 131% increase in the cost of family health care insurance.
In your view 90% of Americans are leftist! :ack-1:

It was never meant to.

Actually, our elected officials have done nothing to even slow down the rate of the speed the cost of health care has accelerated to.
Look at the rate of the growth in the cost of health care in other wealthy countries compared to the US. In most cases, many of these countries have a better ratio of doctors/clinics/services per capita than the US. They pay a fraction of the price for pharmaceuticals that we are charged in the US. Their health care is rated as good as or better than the US.
Finally, there will be a time that the cost of health care becomes a serious threat to the US's economic stability. That time is rapidly getting near.
Public Option anyone?

Unfortunately, the health care reform effort was co-opted early on (started?) by the insurance industry itself as a means of legally mandating themselves customers. They learned from their experiences with forcing auto insurance. This is the way business rolls now - they "partner" with government for fun and profit.

(CNSNews.com) – In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.

Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.

The IRS's assumption that the cheapest plan for family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.

The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan

Hey! America, consider yerselves "bronzed" you deserve it. :clap2:

Go to the "Homepage" of your "source". Look under "about us". Kind of says it all.

The number one cause of bankruptcy is "medical bills". Why do you feel that's a "good thing"? Why do Republicans block real reform. Why do Republicans feel a Health Care company CEO making a hundred million dollars skimming insurance policies is "good for this country"?

The right wing - ever more extreme - ever more ignorant - always trying to bring us down.

Why do you keep repeating lies?

I have no idea what republicans believe and don't care.

Tell me are health care costs the same as health insurance costs or not?

The problem is that stupid Obamacare law was a bunch of thrown together, payoffs, to special interests, just to get the thing passed. None of those politicians read the damn thing, there was no floor debate, it was just pushed through so Obama could have his victory and takeover health care in this country. Now they write the rules and you'd better comply or the IRS is coming for you

Its what we get for letting corporations (like Big Insurance and Big Pharma) set the rules and the prices.

We're already seeing modest lowering of cost - eg - the refunds the insurance companies are sending out.

Yeah, its a real shame that only the libs benefit while the rw's pay more, lose their doctors ... Can't remember the other lies we've read here but I'm sure we'll be reading more.

You might want to read the actual document.

Or, if you prefer, you could just keep telling the same lies over and over again.

...plus your deductibles, and out of pocket.

"Health care spending is increasing at more moderate rates than in previous decades. Spending increased 10.5 percent in 1970, 13 percent in 1980, and consistently less than 7 percent in each of the last five years, reaching a low of 6.1 percent a year ago (see chart 1)."

Chart is bogus.

If you believe that, then you believe this:

"President Obama famously promised that the health law would lower premiums by an average of about $2,500 annually per family. "

I have never said that Obamacare would make health care cheaper and my first comment on this thread basically says that.
Secondly, I have been against Obamacare before it ever came up for vote in Congress because of the mandate.
Regarding the chart, you say it's bogus, well then refute it with substance instead of slanted opinion.

How many of us were around when the cost of health care in the US was comparable to the cost of healthcare in the other wealthy nations?
