Is America coming apart?

nde
America once had a strong middle class, sound institutions, a real sense of community and was a place where ordinary, decent people actually could get ahead, especially with an honest work ethic.

That America seems to have disappeared and in the words of George Packer, today’s middle class seems to have slipped into a state of permanent poverty.

Is America coming apart?
Definitely! Disassembling is a better term, I think. I have long predicted that the Fall of 2031 will find us in a full collapse following two years of undeniable failures. This need not be; a better election system would prevent it, but no one can handle true solutions in a sea of stupidity and confusion.

This need not be; a better election system would prevent it, but no one can handle true solutions in a sea of stupidity and confusion.

I wonder when people will finally realize that more politics are not the solution.

Politics have long been the problem.

Even the founding fathers could not come to this simple conclusion, when they gave into fear and established a new state that would fuck people over for 240 years and counting.

Our nation is in peril right now. If HRC wins there will be a serious secession movement starting in Texas and moving east and north rapidly. Real America is fed up with the lies and corruption coming out of DC from both parties. Fed up---------fricken fed up.

Once Trump loses we should be better off. If the republicans lose the House and Senate, America will be on a fast track to actually repair itself. I don't have a whole lot of faith in democrats, but with republicans out of the picture America might be fine.
With Republicans out of the picture, and no faith in Democrats, who is it exactly to make America fine? Lady Macbeth? Or perhaps Bernie?
It's true that America was a good country for those who benefited from it but, from the perspective of those who have not, it is a failure. It's all in what is expected of a nation's government.
With our constant movement toward all people being dependent on the national government, we can expect bankruptcy and conquest.

Political and domestic crises help consolidate state power.

The military has already made itself a ferocious and intimidating occupying force.

No group is even close to being ready to wage war.

This is the modern age. States of this magnitude have mostly been defeated by other nations. No foreign army can oust a fascist regime in the United States.

Americans need to be afraid. Matters are only getting worst.

I don't think you can make a case for it coming apart. In fact, the biggest phallacy to Donnie Two Tone's bs is that people desperately want to come her to BE LIKE US. Illegal immigration is a true issue, but he's played the racist card .... but he's Queen of the Birthers.

If you add up the Stein, Johnson and Two Tone Donnie folks ... you have a majority, and all feel both parties have stopped helping them. So, I think what you have is the radical fringe breaking away, but also the middle.

Of course, Stein really is a nut

Johnson is stoned

And Two Tone Donnie's a con man.

We have four really bad candidates.

If you were one of the founders, what would you have proposed that would have prevented a system lead by politicians?

If you were one of the founders, what would you have proposed that would have prevented a system lead by politicians?

Nothing. Most of them did not walk the talk.

Trade got competitive. Civilian militias held the government accountable. Politicians and aristocrats got scared.

The natural consequence of a scared and weak ruling class is consolidation behind the state.

The powers that be will act compassionate and gracious, only until they feel threatened. Then they become more authoritarian. As was the case in transitioning between the articles of confederation and the constitution.

Solidarity was not needed during the actual revolutionary war. Most communities self-governed. Yankees did not have to pay taxes. Bandits were killed by civilians. The country was protected from foreign abuse by the Continental Army.

That's the point!: the majority of voters want to oust the Democrats; the overwhelming percentage of Republicans want to oust the "establishment," and both of the Devil's parties want to oust change.
We need my election system, but that's not in the cards.

Let's hope it does, sooner than later. Anytime a country is paying debt with more debt does not deserve to exist… LOL

You cannot even arguing for abolishing the debt.

It was not like the US was being extorted for money in some loan shark situation. It was simply irresponsible.

With the exception of the homeless, nobody in the U.S. lives in poverty.

The poorest of the poor in the USA, are among the wealthiest 1 percent in the world.

...But for the white folk who controlled everything in the past and made themselves a nice little home by making sure others were below them, they've still got their nice little home and they still make sure others are below them.

Good luck with staying out of trouble, my little Anti-American Anarchist Princess, now that you've openly declared your desire to see the United States destroyed.

If I were you, I'd begin peeking outside through the curtains from time to time.

It certainly puts statists in a difficult position.

The debt is only illegitimate if the people view the state as illegitimate (which it is)

The great United States enslaved Americans to a death sentence. Either we will be forced to pay into this with increasing desperation, or the state will push this nation to the eve of destruction by screwing over debtors.

Far-right militias and Marxists love me. The common man does not give a shit, per usual.

The anarchists would defend me.

It is the government bureaucracies you need to be weary about. The kind that most likely monitor my activity. As soon as any armed group organizes in America, they are guaranteed to get infiltrated by the FBI at very least.

Great idea, comparing us to the 3rd world, perfect dupe of the greedy idiot rich GOP.

That's where the poverty is, tard. It's not here in the U.S. or Europe. You're an over privileged fool.
It's not in Europe. It's here, dupe. Duh. Thanks GOP and the chumps.
