Islam says there must be no compulsion over religion, and Muslims have never tried to convert anyone, and in fact discourage conversions,
It is only Christianity that has a missionary complex.

I can see the moderates cheering there on the ground.

Sorry, but executing homosexuals is Judaism, not Islam.
And Islam only allows for beheading, because that is the only quick and painless execution.
This is Old Testament stuff from before Mohammad, that Mohammad was trying to stop.

Yeah, because the picture is fake. obviously.

You did not read what I wrote.
I wrote that before Mohammad, there was Judaism only.
And it is Judaism and the Old Testament that says to kill homosexuals.
So the problem is obviously that Mohammad was not able to get people to get over Judaism.

Keep apologizing, it isn't making you look better.

You cons are just so fkn deranged.

If you wanted a discussion about how Islam is WORSE than Christianity you should have stated that in the OP.

FACT: most christians are NOT dangerous extremists.
FACT: most muslims are NOT dangerous extremists
FACT: SOME muslims and SOME christians ARE dangerous extremists.
FACT: both religions teach that women should be subservient to their husbands.
FACT: both religions are nonsense.

I am not aware of a single Christian terrorist organization. Islam on the other hand, all over.

False analogy of the year you got there.

I tried to keep it clean, but apparently the comparisons can't be avoided. Blame people like Golfing Gator.

Whoa there!
Clearly the US is single most terrorist nation in the world.
Think about when we mistakenly though Iraq had WMD?
We did not just invade, but used "Shock and Awe" to wipe out the water, electricity, food, and sanitation, in a desert nation, murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.
We still assassinate thousands of innocent people with drones.
Why are we murdering the Taliban, when they never attacked us, did nothing illegal, and used to be our allies when we wanted them to fight the Soviets.

In comparison, the Moslems people call terrorists, actually are just freedom fighters trying to liberate their homelands from us.

Oh how quick were you to jump to the full "FUCK AMERICA" agenda.

You regressives are hopeless people. Just go fuck yourself if you hate yourself that much.

The question was about Christian TERRORISM. You failed.

Wrong.
What the US is doing with its military is sinful, corrupt, illegal, wrong, and terrorism.
When you kill innocent civilians who do not want to do what you want them to do, that is terrorism.
We invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, killed Qaddafi, attacked Assad, and threatened Iran, all as acts of terrorism.
There was no justifiable cause for our murders or threats and they were pure terrorism.
The only way this is not Christian terrorism is if the US is not Christian.
And if it was no Christian, I doubt we would be committing all this terrorism in the Mideast.

The snowflakes in the "Is Islam Right About Women" thread complained that they can not vote, because the poll unfairly targeted only one religion. Particularly the big boogeyman Christianity was left out.

So at a popular leftist request, here it is. A thread regarding Christianity.

My personal opinion is that Christianity treats women extremely well. In no Christian nation are women treated poorly or neglected. In fact I am quite certain that Christian nations treat women better than they are treated anywhere else. Devout Christian women are among the happiest, fulfilling the most important part of human life, procreation and caring for our children. Very important, decent and productive people.

I disagree.
Women could not vote in the US until 1920.
They were not allowed into colleges that would lead to professions like being doctors.
They were not given the same legal or inheritance rights.
They used to be burned at the stake by the Christian Church, as witches.
They only recently have been allowed to become priests.

In comparison, the whole point of Islam was to reform Judaism so that women had rights.
Mohammad created Islam as a way of showing his appreciation for what the merchant widow he married, gave to him.

Most people could not vote in the USA. That is a total non-argument, because USA is not a democracy. No one has any inherent right to vote. Who has or hasn't right to vote is determined by what is good for the REPUBLIC. It doesn't seem like the extension of voting rights have done us much good.

Stupid people used to be punished, it was not a woman specific thing. Maybe that should be brought back, you would not last long.

Women got to sit at home all day while men worked 16 hours a day in mines? Not so sure that this is horrible treatment.

Sit at home all day? So, what are you telling us? That magic fairies came in and took care of the kids, washed the clothes and dishes, cleaned the house, tended the gardens, cooked the food, and made the clothes while the woman lounged and ate bon bons?
By the 1960's they were. Really, that is an important job. And today many women are fragmented into a few ways with work, home (with or without spouse) and children. Even so back then, the deal between two adult people was mutually good.

To debate whether we should be in parts of the world is tough. There are plenty of soldiers who will tell you that most of those people want to live a good life. And there is to much interference from a greater amount of rabble rousers then we have who make it harder. It does not help that a lot of those areas are tougher to grow crops. Oil became a big time resource to sell and has enriched some. But it is uneven. Do we leave there? What happens? What happens to Israel? Pro or Con. Do the people live better?

No, even in the 1960s, it was still work.

And yes, marriage has always been a good deal for both parties, and a division of the labor needed to survive and have a decent life . . . which was my point when you talked about "women sitting at home". Whether women earn an income or not, they are and always have been contributing partners to the marriage.

I only know moderates, conservatives, right wingers and liberals.

The right wingers are dangerously deranged scum (like you)

the moderates and liberals are ok.

"FACT: It's estimated that between 15 to 20% of Muslims worldwide embrace extremism, which translates into tens of millions."

sorry if I laugh at you and your obvious stupidity.

You apparently don't realize that 15-20 percent is NOT MOST MUSLIMS!

So you have verified my statement that MOST muslims are NOT dangerous extremists. Thank you.

FACT: Christianity teaches that women are to be respectful and obey fathers and husbands.

Again, Thank You! for proving me right!

The US is not going into those areas like the Mideast to make things better.
We are going there because of oil, imperialism, colonialism, and profiteering.

I think that is why we created Israel, out of European immigrants who do not really belong in the Mideast.
I am Jewish, so I know that Judaism says Jews are supposed to be atoning for the sins of arrogance and pride, so that the Messiah comes to make Zion on Earth. It is sinful and crazy to instead take over Palestine by military force.

I have no idea what is best for the Mideast, but in general, it is never better when a country like the US invades with massive and deadly military force. A terrible mistake.

None of the major religions have it right about women because they all make women 2nd class citizens under the control of men.

Which Christian nation would this be?

There is no such thing as a Christian nation.

Is there such a thing as a Jewish nation? (Hint: You wouldn't want to be anti-Semitic).

Of course there are Christian nations. That would be half of Europe, especially nations like Vatican. Unlike the USA, European nations have official religion, and that religion is Christianity. Get educated.

A Christian nation would be a theocracy ruled by the church. There is no such nation. The reason that women are treated well in this country is because our laws go against the teaching of the Christian religion in regards to women.

Please enlighten this Christian women as to the teachings of the Bible about me. As you see it.

No Christianity does not have it right about women. Christianity spends way too much time and effort on controlling women's sexuality, and enforcing gender roles, instead of teaching men to respect women. All too often Christianity tells women to tolerate beatings and abuse by their husbands. A Christian "family values" website defines "adultery" as sex between a man and a woman who is married or engaged. If the man is married and the woman is single, there is no adultery.

The evangelical right has a morbid fascination with clinical virginity, that is emotionally unhealthy for young women - basically telling them that if they're not a virgin at marriage, they have no value. This message was around when I was growing up, but chastity ceremonies where teen girls pledge to their fathers to remain virgins until they marry, are downright creepy. It's also lead to a huge increase in oral and anal sex among high school girls in Christian communities. The law of unintended consequences. When I was growing up, even the "easy" girls who didn't care about their reputations, would never have done anything as disgusting as anal sex.

Many Christian sects restrict women's roles in leadership, both as a pastor, and in other leadership roles, and believe that women should be subjugated to men. They believe that using birth control is a "sin" and that all sex must be allowed to lead to procreation, making women slave to their biology. This is no different than Muslims.

The Left's creepy hatred of Christianity is getting worse and is a harbinger, brothers and sisters. But you knew this.

Get ready

I don't hate Christianity. But I have a low opinion of evangelical right-wing Christianity, which is not a religion, but a political movement disguised as religion. Religious leaders should be dealing with your spiritual life, not politics. Period.

When Jesus was asked about the Romans, and how to fight them, His response was "My kingdom is not of this world.", and he made a point of not speaking out against Roman occupation, Roman taxes (render unto Cesar). Jesus stayed out of politics even though Israel had been conquered by the Romans and was a Roman territory. Judas betrayed Jesus because Jesus refused to use his popularity to rally the Jewish people against the Romans.

Jesus stayed right out of politics. Evangelical ministers should tend to the spiritual lives of their flocks, and do the same.

I am not talking about your church. I am talking about your REAL faith.

Christianity is big on Original Sin by Adam, but blames Eve as the source of temptation.

{...
The Protestant Reformation
Martin Luther (1483–1546) asserted that humans inherit Adamic guilt and are in a state of sin from the moment of conception. The second article in Lutheranism's Augsburg Confession presents its doctrine of original sin in summary form:

It is also taught among us that since the fall of Adam all men who are born according to the course of nature are conceived and born in sin. That is, all men are full of evil lust and inclinations from their mothers' wombs and are unable by nature to have true fear of God and true faith in God. Moreover, this inborn sickness and hereditary sin is truly sin and condemns to the eternal wrath of God all those who are not born again through Baptism and the Holy Spirit. Rejected in this connection are the Pelagians and others who deny that original sin is sin, for they hold that natural man is made righteous by his own powers, thus disparaging the sufferings and merit of Christ.[64]

Luther, however, also agreed with the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception (that Mary was conceived free from original sin) by saying:

[Mary] is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin. God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil. God is with her, meaning that all she did or left undone is divine and the action of God in her. Moreover, God guarded and protected her from all that might be hurtful to her.[65]

Protestant Reformer John Calvin (1509–1564) developed a systematic theology of Augustinian Protestantism by interpretation of Augustine of Hippo's notion of original sin. Calvin believed that humans inherit Adamic guilt and are in a state of sin from the moment of conception. This inherently sinful nature (the basis for the Calvinistic doctrine of "total depravity") results in a complete alienation from God and the total inability of humans to achieve reconciliation with God based on their own abilities. Not only do individuals inherit a sinful nature due to Adam's fall, but since he was the federal head and representative of the human race, all whom he represented inherit the guilt of his sin by imputation. Redemption by Jesus Christ is the only remedy.

John Calvin defined original sin in his Institutes of the Christian Religion as follows:

Original sin, therefore, seems to be a hereditary depravity and corruption of our nature, diffused into all parts of the soul, which first makes us liable to God's wrath, then also brings forth in us those works which Scripture calls "works of the flesh" (Gal 5:19). And that is properly what Paul often calls sin. The works that come forth from it – such as adulteries, fornications, thefts, hatreds, murders, carousings – he accordingly calls "fruits of sin" (Gal 5:19–21), although they are also commonly called "sins" in Scripture, and even by Paul himself.

Get ready

There certainly are a lot of good things about Christianity, but there also are a lot of bad things historically that were Christian movements.
For the bad, there was Prohibition, sexuality laws, imperialism, colonialism, evil Mideast wars and invasions, the War on Drugs, etc.
And that is without going back to slavery, Puritanism, burning witches, etc.

I don't hate Christianity. But I have a low opinion of evangelical right-wing Christianity, which is not a religion, but a political movement disguised as religion. Religious leaders should be dealing with your spiritual life, not politics. Period.

You don't have the first clue about my church or my religion. But sweetheart, know this. I understand yours like the back of my proverbial hand. It is more Fundamentalist than any Christian church I have ever stepped in, ever. It is full of judgmental moralizers, just like you, and is very cult-like in its operation. Don't doubt that for a minute.

That is not at all a correct view of history.
The Romans did not invade and conquer a Jewish country.
The Seleucids were the successors to the empire of Alexander the Great, and it was Rome that established the Jewish Hasmoneans as their puppets, after they had invaded. For example, Herod was a Roman who simply converted to Judaism so that he could play both roles.

But otherwise I agree religions should not involve themselves in politics unless there is strong abuse of individual rights.

Religions should not involve themselves in politics.

Is this only for white countries or for Jews and Muslims as well? Jewish influence should have nothing to do with policy of Israel?

And that would be false. It was a good deal for the men with stay at home wives. It wasn't such a good deal for women. Their opportunities were limited or non-existent. Women are just as smart, capable and ambitious as men, and without an outlet for those talents, disenchantment grew. When women went out to work during WWII, women got to stretch their opportunities and talents. Going back to the kitchen when the men came home, didn't go exactly as planned.

For a time, I worked and my husband was a stay at home dad. It was heaven for me. No cleaning, laundry or housework. Time to read my daughter bedtime stories, lead her Brownie troop, and volunteer at our church. My husband felt isolated and was exhibiting symptoms of depression when he went back to work.

I do not know if I used those words of "sitting at home". However there is the potential to have some free time.

Here is your sentence:

"Women got to sit at home all day while men worked 16 hours a day in mines?"

And no, there was no "potential for free time" back then if you didn't plan to starve to death in squalor.
