You need to ask the Supreme Court that question, Hawk. To me, personally, it seems like a pretty innocuous question. It is not alright to ask a question to disenfranchise certain elements of the population from answering the census.Trump Vows to Move Forward With Citizenship Question on Census Justice Department Reverses Course on Citizenship Question on Census, Citing Trump’s Orders
Does he think Barr will protect him? If he defies the USSC.....IMPEACH!
So it was illegal when the question was on the 2000 census?

Question 13.
How did it “disenfranchise” anyone before? When the question was removed in 2010, there was no difference in response rates to the census.
It would be completely fitting for Trump to be impeached for breaking the law though. The first and only President in our history to defy the Supreme Court and impeached within weeks. LOL
The Supreme Court does not control the Executive Branch. Each branch is equal in its powers. Besides, the SCOTUS did not say the question could not be asked.
