Is Quid Pro Quo a Crime?

President asks a president to look into corruption. Do not know if Biden had even announced his candidacy. Beside, Biden has not been running against Trump anyway.
It’s another mish mash of jangled emotions, trying to connect dots where there are not any so of course make it up and use disgraceful media to sally forth

President Trump did not ask the President of Ukraine to 'look into corruption'. He secretly asked him to look into the Biden's and the mythical DNC server. Trump was not interested in 'corruption' in Ukraine- he wanted a public announcement
Biden not only had already announced his candidacy, Trump had been addressing Biden as a political rival for months by that point.

There is no 'mish mash of jangled emotions' other than Trump daily misinformation tweets

By the way, yesterday it came out that Trump had asked Barr to make a statement about the phone call with Ukraine and tell people on television that Trump did nothing wrong in making that call.

We all know the reason Barr was made AG, it was because of his loyalty and support to Trump.

Well, apparently, not even Barr is willing to make a public statement saying that Trump is innocent. If Trump really is innocent, why won't Barr make the statement?

Was it? I didn't hear it. There was no press coverage of the call.
The U.S. Ambassador to the Ukraine was excluded from the call as were others who usually were on such calls.

And then the records of the call were tucked away into a virtual vault.

You and I would not know to this day about the call unless the whistleblower had reported the secret call through official channels.

You'll probably call it "fake news" (like Trump is trying to do), but here ya go.........................

President Trump wanted Attorney General William P. Barr to hold a news conference declaring that the commander in chief had broken no laws during a phone call in which he pressed his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate a political rival, though Barr ultimately declined to do so, people familiar with the matter said.

The request from Trump traveled from the president to other White House officials and eventually to the Justice Department. The president has mentioned Barr’s demurral to associates in recent weeks, saying he wished Barr would have held the news conference, Trump advisers say.

In recent weeks, the Justice Department has sought some distance from the White House, particularly on matters relating to the burgeoning controversy over Trump’s dealings on Ukraine and the impeachment inquiry they sparked.

What does this do to the left's "Barr is Trumps stool pigeon" narrative?

no more foreign aid and call it a day. For any foreign aid, there is a quid pro quo necessary. there is no other means for giving them money. I'm all ears for how it can be handled differently. Hey mr. PM, whoever the fk you are, you want a billion dollars, we need this in return. every mthr fking dollar spent was done in that manner. so, unless you got something else, stop the funding.
No you were right in the first sentence. No more foreign aid.

It was a completely fabricated story that was never checked out before it was published.

Now that I think about it, I've never heard about anyone being charged with "quid pro quo" before. If it's a crime, why hasn't anyone been charged with it before?
