Is the extreme rights opposition to Ukraine support based on hatred of Biden ?

Some of the right’s unwarranted opposition to defending Ukraine centers around resentment concerning Trump’s failed attempt to extort Zelensky into providing damaging information on Joe Biden – an act of treason that resulted in Trump’s first impeachment.

There’s also conservatives’ admiration for Putin, along with other despots and dictators – perceived as ‘strong’ and ‘decisive,’ many conservatives find it impossible to oppose Putin, a fellow illiberal neo-fascist and authoritarian.

Last, we have the blind partisan right who in knee-jerk fashion will oppose anything President Biden does.

Like the left had the same reaction to anything President Trump did.

The difference is the left didn't oppose Trump on matters of national security.

As often pointed out, the left wasn't against Trumps wall, they were against the taxpayers paying for it.

When it was free (mexico would pay for it) they were all for it.

They opposed him on everything and the left was NEVER for the wall or any kind of illegal immigration control peroid.

Faking a FISA Warrant and the Russian Collusion Delusion weren't national security matters? Really??

I opposed all presidents when they get us into stupid idiotic situations we have no business being involved in.

To note, I was one of Biden's biggest defenders in getting us out of Afghanistan. He's certainly blown any goodwill from me since then though.

There's a LOT of oppositional politics in play on the world stage..

Democrats HATED Afghanistan because a Republican President invaded....and without cause pulled the troops out in as bad a manner as possible. (The fact that people based in Afghanistan attacked the USA wasn't relevant anymore)

So when Democrat Biden decided to help Ukraine the Republicans immediately opposed it. This despite that a former great Republican leader would roll over in his grave over the whole situation. (Ronald Reagan)

And the more this type of American politics are played the worse shape the world gets in. Because it demonstrates to the world that American morality is secondary to American political gamesmanship.

It's what gets the USA hated above and beyond everything else.

I know that the mainstream GOP is generally supportive and I do not include them in this..

But some of the reaction seems to be absurd. They offer no solutions to the problem, just criticism of every action that the President takes.

Biden has enough problems in rebuilding the US without the bother of Ukraine. This is a problem that has been forced on him.

There are several detractors on here. Perhaps you could share your thoughts on the war.

What would you have done differently.

If you're so eager to go to war feel free to grab you gun and head to the Ukraine limey.

A lot of people are suspect of Ukraine's leadership because of their associations with the Biden Crime Family for sure.

Does Zelenskyy have all of the dirt of the Bidens and is he using it to fulfill his expansionist dreams?

There is a lot of reason to think exactly that. Remember Hunter Biden's employment in Ukraine, that he got with Zero experience?
Can you name any non-conspiracy theory reasons to believe any of that?

Biden doesn’t need to help a country, that before the war, went after and punished political opposition, that suppressed the press, punished gays and lesbians, police and army would brutally beat their own citizens, that is the country Biden has chosen to help. Taking American tax dollars to support this corrupt country, to fund the pensions at the expense of American working class.

Why should we support such a country, who is much like Russia?

The problem is we seem to have no clear cut goal here. We are sending millions and millions of dollars worth of aid to Ukraine to basically get a stalemate on the battlefield which seems like that is what the administration wants which just drags the war out. If we are going to get involved in any war either directly or indirectly set a clear goal accomplish it and be done don't go in and do it half assed.

You mean taking back Ukraine territory that Russia stole.

Crimea was stolen from Russia in the 1950's by Ukrainian strongman Nikita Khrushchev. The vast majority of the people in Crimea are ethnically Russian, follow the Russian Orthodox faith and if we can believe the plebiscite from a few years ago want to to be part of the Russian Federation.

Since when is the dictates of Nikita "I will bury you" Khrushchev taken as an unquestionable dogma?

Personally, I think this whole fuss is about how the Left was embarrassed by how their "Russian collusion" narrative about 2016 failed.

Why do you think that they are not achieving the precise goals they have for Ukraine?

Especially when you are articulating the goals very well.

Sanctions are also in play here. GDP is a bust in Russia. The more men, munitions, and money they waste in Ukraine, including the Ukranians infrastructure they will not get to possess....plus the added troubles with the Crimean Ports requiring even larger defense budget.

Things are going to be so expensive for Ukraine that Russia can't afford to attack and annex any more countries. (Which is their clearly stated goal)

The goal is to get Russia out of Ukraine.
