Is the GOP intentionally preventing a recovery?

The Big Government Progressives are preventing a Recovery...as Geithner noted recently, taxes must increase to keep government from shrinking.

As long as they adhere to this philosophy, the economy will suffer.

Today the R's want to loot average Americans and in so doing benefit their base. Privatize social security and 'allow' Americans to invest with Wall Street 'advisers' for a fee with no guarantee any money will be left when needed;

OMG! How much of the money is left in Social Security now? I'll give you a hint.....it starts with zero.

Corporations have record cash on hand because they're reluctant to invest in expansion during this Administration's astounding hostility to business.

Why should they, when they know their success will be punished?

Raising their taxes will get them to invest. LOL!
I'm in favor of saying "invest it or it will be taxed".

Maybe we need to follow Sweden's lead and have a negative interest rate for excess bank reserves.

Why the half measures?
Kill the greedy kulaks, eh comrade?

Where do you imagine it is now that it's not being invested?
How is it not being taxed now?
Spell it out.

Once again, this thread asks this question, "Is the GOP intentionally preventing a recovery?"

And once again, no one has shown any Democratic efforts to create a recovery.
Who would do that, and how?

Wouldn't that be the job of the Speaker of the House, to pass a jobs bill? President Obama cannot pass any bills, just sign or not sign them.

So tell me how you want the President to create jobs.

He could start by being the leader he has the capabilities of being instead of cowing to the lobbyists who hold the congressional leash.

He could rally the unemployed and those who care to march on DC and DEMAND a fair and simple tax code.

He could remember that we elected him to 'change the way business is conducted in Washington' and rally the people to march on DC to form a human shield between congress and K Street, forcing congress to decide for themselves instead of letting the lobbyists write the legislation.

He could stop spending $12 million per day blowing shit up overseas and bring our troops home.

He could grow a set. He is such a huge disappointment.

Obama came up with bills for the Colorado House?

Pretending these two posts don't exist doesn't actually make it so, Wry.
Wry must have me on ignore. Considering he keeps mentioning me, that's pretty cowardly.

If he doesn't have me on ignore, he's pretending these posts aren't there. Also cowardly.
Maybe he just realizes that you are a troll?
No, like all leftists, he pretends things he doesn't like don't exist. It's magical thinking, and it shows a disconnect from reality.

You mean Democrats can't introduce any bills?
President Obama cannot pass any bills, just sign or not sign them.
No shit. Looks like Schoolhouse Rock did a little good after all.
So tell me how you want the President to create jobs.
It's easy...get the hell out of the way, and stop punishing people for success.

You know why corps are sitting on their money and not expanding? They're worried...and rightly so...that this Admin is going to shit on them. You retards and your unrealistic "tax the rich" school of non-thought can't see beyond your own protest sign mentality. To hell with the consequences...there's money the government can seize to give to people who didn't earn it!

Exactly.
If leftists didn't redefine words, they'd have nothing to say.

I'm not a troll. I just say things you don't like, you petulant child.

And if you're not going to respond to my posts, at least have the common courtesy to stop mentioning my name.

But you don't have the common courtesy, do you?

Yup. The government is more important than the nation.

For all statists, it is the only thing

Mussolini (another fascist) also said:

Against individualism, the Fascist conception is for the State; and it is for the individual in so far as he coincides with the State,

and he said:

Everything in the State, nothing against the State, nothing outside the State."- Mussolini
(Der Nationalsozialismos, die Weltanschauung des 20. Jahrhunderts)

Also,

Mussolini liked to affirm that Marx was his spiritual father
(Mussolini y el Fascismo," in Que sais je. (in Spanish), page 31.)

80 pages and still the Red Scare + Fascism (thanks Neotrotsky) yet no evidence the GOP has made any effort to stimulate the economy. All the evidence suggests the GOP doesn't want a recovery unless they have regained power. Since their base is is doing well, the stock market has improved and the non working leisure class has their tax breaks and capital gains it's obvious the GOP has no worries.

The government IS the nation.
No, it isn't. The citizens are the nation. The government works for us, not the other way around.

You idiot statists just can't understand that.

The government is made up of people.

So is the mafia. Does that mean the mafia is the people? However, the Mafia is merely a branch of a larger criminal gang called the government.

You are anti American all the way.

The belief that the government and the nation are indistinguishable is the ultimate expression of fascism.

You don't know much about democracy.

The government is elected by the people.

The absence of government in anarchy.

You are a traitor to America.

We, The People.

Government is simply a tool. It's high time we learned how to use it instead of allowing it use us.

Fair taxes, appropriate regulation, strict PAYGO for spending.

Class warfare crap? really? - Republicans will not help the working man but Democrats
will....:doubt:

How did Nancy Pelosi do on the market?
Nancy Pelosi's wealth rose by 62% last year.
In 2009 she had a minimum net worth of 21.7 million now after discolsures by Mrs pelosi her net worth is 35.2 million.

Nancy Pelosi has raised almost twice as much money from lobbyists this election as Boehner has?
At least 18 House Democrats have raised more lobbyist cash this election than Boehner has.
Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid have pocketed more lobbyist cash in the past 18 months than Boehner has raised in the past 6 elections, combined?

It is Statism that is the problem.

I really don't care what they call themselves, communists. socialists, etc
"Same crap- different name"

By the way Clinton cut the capital gains tax

The GOP was elected to the House to stop the out of control spending by the Papa Obama and the Democrats.
Succeeding, would do a lot to improve people's confidence in the economy, would you not agree?

Perhaps, keeping the Left from spending crazy and "holding the line" until the next election to
get rid of more of the extreme Left from power, is the best solution.

Really, no matter how hard the MSM and the Left tries to pin unemployment on the House Republicans, it will fall on the
feet of Papa Obama and the Democrats since they had and still hold majority of the branches.
The Republicans need to work on keeping debt down until the next election.

It is more important now then ever before for the US people to remember
that the gov't gets its power from the people and is subservient to the people.
In ALL statist gov'ts, the people serve the state and the state is supreme.

It times like these, history has shown that opportunists will try to exploit them
to promote their statists desires- eg Rahm "Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste"

Now do I think all of these people are statists, of course not, though Rahm is one.
But for many, they do not understand the means and only want the goals with no really
understanding of how we get there to "meet" those goals.

Nor do many have an appreciation
of history and all horrific failures of these statist Utopias measured in bodies.
Ignorance is bliss for some and convenient political fodder for others.

No doubt, many will even try to say they are "necessary and only temporary "
Don't believe them

Nice speech. And the philosophy behind it I agree with. I'm still not going to vote republican any more than I'm going to vote democrat - I continue to see both parties as lap-dogs of the same well-heeled special interests, designed and maintained for the specific purpose of keeping the American voters so busy squabbling over 'left' -vs- 'right' that we don't have time or strength to follow the money.

Both parties are led by well educated, self-interested, egoistical people who refuse to see beyond the next election and who aren't above using fear to motivate the sheeple because that's how they were trained by their elders for the job.

The TEA Party may be our best hope for real change - ass-u-me-ing their rank and file stance on government intervention into our social freedoms continues to become more and more diluted by the defection of disillusioned middle and upper middle class republicans and genuine, moderate liberals (classic liberals) from the democrats.

A very small percentage. And they work for us.

You are anti American all the way.
Wrong. That's why I oppose the bloated mess our government has become.

Only people who want to be subjects support big government.

I'm a citizen. There's a vast difference. You fail to understand that.
