Isn't the timing of Buttigeig's dropping out suspect

Does anyone find Pete Buttigeig dropping out before Super Tuesday just a little suspect? Would this not free up his supporters to vote for Biden and keep Bernie from winning more delegates?
That's exactly the point. Nothing suspect about it. Buttigieg and Klobuchar did the math and saw the only way to keep Sanders from being the nominee is for everyone but Biden to drop out ASAP.

For the good of the party.
Love that qualifier. Better ..the duopoly, the billionaires, the corporatocracy,. whatever.. Just not the country or the people. Dog forbid. Jesus Lives On! No Jews!

Agreed, but he still has a path to the Presidency exactly as I described

Um, no, not really. Frankly, Biden doesn't get anything from taking Bloomberg as a running mate. He doesn't have a real constiency and he's kind of toxic to Biden's key demographic, African Americans.

A much, much smarter choice would probably be Klobachar, but only if she can put this wrongful conviction issue to bed. But my guess, he'll pick someone from the Rust Belt to lure back those voters who are wondering why the Factory Jobs haven't come back from China yet.

Bloomy got $2,000,000,000 reason to be the VP and the DNC will gladly accept. You think Reagan WANTED CIA Assassin Bush as his VP?

Works on the assumption that his votes will go to Biden. They might just as well go to Bernie. Or Bloomberg, for that matter.

The appeal of Buttigeig was that he was gay. Nobody was really in love with his ideas.

Says the Bernster Supporter that found out yesterday your boy Bernie will not win the nomination!

Um, yeah, he probably did. He knew he didn't have street cred in foreign policy and Bush brought that to the table.

Should also point out, if you were old enough to remember at the time... Reagan desperately tried to get Jerry Ford to agree to be his running mate. Got so close the Chicago Sun Times published this headline.

Then Ford took a hard pass and he took Bush instead.

As would most people given the straight dope and half a chance. Thus the last minute, desperate shenanigans. He can't be allowed in because he's not corrupt and knows the game better than anyone. However the fat lady has not yet sung. Stuff will happen. Hold onto your seat..

Well, Bloomberg is no longer in the race, so lets see if he keeps his promise to throw a whole bunch of financial support behind the Dem candidate.

Reagan selecting Bush was a good move. He was a good VP and a good President. Glad I supported those tickets. Why didn't you?

Nothing to suspect. Biden came right out and SAID he offered Pope Pete a job in his administration.
Pete is smart and actually cares about the country. Kind of refreshing. He would do a good job in an administration that brought him in, and it would be good experience on the national level for him. I don't think America is finished with Pete Buttigeig. Hope that party recognizes a keeper (seemingly out of the blue) when they see it.

I disagree wholeheartedly on his character, but he is a good politician, so I would imagine he would be good at whatever job they gave him within the framework of the Democrats' goals.

Is that based on the homosexual thing or did he do something corrupt in conducting business for the public trust while mayor?

I wouldn't say suspect. Id say a deal was cut for them to drop out. If I were sanders I'd cut a deal with warren and name her vp, otherwise she's just another socialist loonbat who's going to steal votes away from sanders.

It's actually based on listening to him and watching him campaign. He's a sanctimonious, power-grubbing piece of crap . . . which admittedly doesn't make him any different from the majority of politicians.

But hey, thanks for trying to assuage your own homophobia by projecting it onto me. Next time, have the stones to admit your hyperconsciousness of others' sexuality yourself.

No didn't mean it like that. It is just, that is what many on this board are referring to as their main objection other than being a living breathing democrat. Sanctimonious? Both of us notice the image he is trying to project. Nobody. especially politicians are only what they say and he definitely seems to wants to project jack Armstrong the all American Boy for truth, justice and the American way. I just haven't heard any dirt on him. Nobody bothered to publicize much dirt. I think that is because they thought the homosexuality thing and lack of experience on the national stage was enough prevent him from having a chance and maybe they were right. I personally don't care who anybody sleeps with as long as it's not in my yard or pool. I don't understand it, but don't have to understand it. At least he apparently in a committed monogamous relationship. If true, that puts his moral outlook ahead to DJT by far.

we need more women in politics. we need more black people in politics. we need more gays in politics

and less old white men

Buttboy is a midwestern moderate of the "We should listen to him sort"...his speeches were not as rabble rousing as a Bernie

Rabble rousing champion of those who actually have to work and pay taxes here. You rang?

Of course. But even more than that right now, we need a real FDR Democrat to vote for. The only FDR in sight now is Bernie. A critic of authoritarianism. No stinkin' neoliberal, corporate tool, Democrat. An Independent due to having a conscience. Just imagine no longer having to worry about stupid shit like how you're going to pay for your kid's next cavity, insulin, cancer.. The kind of "free shit" those who clearly hate the working class take for granted thanks to long subjugating those who can't and couldn't. Imagine really being able to tell your boss to shove it because your kid's healthcare is no longer tied to employment.. Imagine having actual "freedom", "liberty".. Social Democracy replacing this seemingly never ending fear based reactionaryism. The support of terrorism required to allow many of our own to go on living in poverty. To be fine with having needy, desperate, traumatized people instead of insisting upon all being healthy and free.

If others can do it and become happier we can certainly afford to do much better.

What dirt could the guy have? He's about 13 years old, and his entire resume consists of being a mayor of a rinky-dink backwater city in Indiana. What are they gonna dig up? Kickbacks on street sweeping contracts?

Meanwhile, you are spending way more time ASSuming homosexuality is everyone's focus just because it apparently is yours. "You don't like him, and he's gay, so you must dislike him because he's gay." How about he's a person, and I can - and do - dislike him the same way I do any other person, because he's an ass?
