Interesting idea. No more straight party line candidates in GOP primaries. Weed out the spineless ones who are pushing back against the president’s agenda. Bring forth more independent and, yea, even Tea Party types. And, it appears the president is raising money to support such candidates in the 2018 elections.

Smart move. If he can’t get Congress to cooperate, elect new members who will.

The Trump administration should start examining the pool of potential pro-Trump tea party candidates in districts where GOP members are tempted to enable the Democrat attacks on the President and make it clear to said folks that the difference between an unknown underfunded candidate that has no prayer in a district and a candidate with name recognition, embraced by local GOP and tea party activists and a national fundraising base is a single tweet.

This is very practical because polls have made it abundantly clear that while the media’s all Trump doom all the time is having an effect in DC, it’s also clear that outside of the bubble it has not harmed the President’s popularity with those who elected him one single bit, and in fact is causing people to rally to his defense against what they consider unfair and unprecedented attacks.

Yes, Trump is raising money, but what makes you think it's to support candidates?

Good idea, after listening to his rally speeches and the people there, America is full of dummies. Should be an easy task, gerrymander and control voting rights and we can have a congress as dumb as the president. Although I gotta admit Trump is a special kinda dumb.

Why Trump Lies

the left is making it easier, we could still be picking up seats in upper and lower house.

The fact is that Trump has lost support. He is pretty much down to his core supporters. That is not enough to win.

Also many of these seats are in districts that Trump narrowly won or lost. For example, in Virginia, Trump got fewer votes than Romney did in 2012. Run a Trump person and they will get their heads handed to them. In the Miami area, Clinton got 60% of the vote. The Republicans hold 3 House seats, one of which is likely gone. They also have a high percentage of people who receive subsidies to buy health insurance.

Keep up your hope. Some day - in the very far future - you may be right.
