Like it or not, those with the most strength and power create nations. Rights are established by sovereign nations. There were no 'rights' at that time. In fact there were warring tribes just like everywhere else on the Earth. Those who created America were able to cobble together a whole continent with defined States that do not kill each other, even after a Civil War. Unlike the history of Europe whose divisions have been historically stark. Not until the success of America in recent decades did Europe decide to 'unite' with the 'Euro' economic model.
