BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) — With the dashboard camera in their cruiser rolling, police pulled a Jaguar over for running a stop sign on a dark night. But things suddenly turned tense when one of the officers warned his partner that he could see a gun in the glove compartment.

I only see these incidents rising in number. Rather tired of hearing about police brutality. It is really scary to be stopped by an incompetent and moronic officer. Mistakes like this one just aren't acceptable.

did you watch the whole thing?

b/c around 4:50 they say "gun right there"

I also like how the video was blurry during the shooting but cleared up after words

basically, you fell for some bullshit

Mistake like this one? On the part of the passenger? Guns are involved as is one suspect having a known history of shooting at police, and the passenger does NOT obey police commands.

wtf are you talking about and what is your point as relates to the content of the OP and video?

This won't get a lot of traction. One of the officers was black and knew this thug and knew that he spent 13 years in prison for shooting at officers.

not about race asshole. the traction will be the man looks like he posed no threat.

what the officer believes will play a big role. If I were the officer I'd believe the guy was a thread because of the history of those in the car. when guns are in play it is very dangerous to trust anyone

Please, everything about cop shootings is racial these days. This one will be muted for the very reasons I mentioned. There are no gentile giants or kids with Skittles here and the cop was black. Even Sharpton will probably not slither from NY to bother with this one.

But the argument that cops are killing blacks is there

My point is that they are and in this instance it is either justified or not -- without speaking about race. One question is, what does the video actually show?

Here's a public service announcement since it isn't obvious to some people. If someone is pointing a gun at you, badge or no badge, don't fidget around or make sudden moves towards them.

true, but is the shooting justified or not? Do you think ANY move justifies shooting? How about a twitch? Is it the move or what the officer perceives?
I still wonder why you consistently pollute every thread with your imbecilic notions of what constitutes cognitive abilities? --- --- --- Not that would be able to answer that question...

Everything looks imbecilic to an imbecile.

Yes, if you are drawn down on, stop what the fuck you're doing.

I watched the story this morning on CBS, they played the video and had a "compliance" specialist or something gal on. I was expecting the usual victimhood crap but she said what I just said, don't move around when cops are questioning you. When asked if if was a good shoot she said she thought it was.

My public service announcement was especially for people like you.

It's about the perception of the Officer or armed citizen. Especially in this current climate, officers are going to shoot first and ask questions later.

Having had an officer point a sidearm at me during a traffic stop back in 2002, I can honestly tell you I was scared to even breathe until we got the situation resolved

I went to get out of my car to ask an officer why he stopped me. I was confused when he started screaming. I wasn't thinking I was a danger. The officer did not reach for his gun. Of course I stopped getting out and apologized. Tension went down and I got a warning

that said, do you think the shooting was justified?

Never get out of the car unless told to. In my case, my vehicle matched the description of a car they were looking for in an armed robbery, but I didn't match the suspect decscription of the perp. Ran my license and insurance then cut me loose. 10 very tense minutes of my life.

I think that anything an officer does to ensure he goes home to his family at night is justified.

Cops are trained to respond in life threatening situations particularly when it's their asses on the line when dealing with street goofballs who are often armed, stoned, wanted, veterens of arrests/convictions, or God only knows what other illegal acts. So imagine how on their toes cops get when they have to interact with street folks in a situation like this one. They know mere hesitation can be the difference between living and dying at work everyday.

Anyway, with a black cop involved this one's going nowhere.

the op claimd police brutality
it wasnt b/c, as is heard, they found his gun
the site wants you to think he was unarmed by blurring the video until he's shot.

watch it again, the glare off the tail lights makes it look like he has one hand up, but then that glares magically goes away after
