If she possesses a PHD, then she can be addressed as "Doctor". My brother and sister and law possess PHD's in Physics. They are addressed by their peers as such.
The educated among us can discern between PHD and MD. However, given your side's willingness to believe a man who has hawked miracle drug cures, injecting

My father is a Ph.D. He went by Dr. his whole working life. Ph.D.s were actually the real doctors back in the day. Calling an M.D. "doctor" was sort of honorary, since a medical school was considered more like a trade school, as opposed to the rigorous scientific standards and the requirement to write a thesis faced by Ph.D. candidates.

For the last four years, we have had a beautiful & gracious First Lady whom most people have been respectful of or have simply ignored. But there has been very little mean-spirited comments about her. That is the way it should be.

Now on January 20, we will have Dr. Biden as our new First Lady. And most Americans of all political persuasions, I assume, will treat her with the usual respect that we traditionally give to First Ladies. (My favorite was Mrs. Richard M. Nixon.)
