No, Bill Clinton was saying the same, before Bush became president.

They sure were, Palin helped move the McCain ticket to the lead in the polls right up to the point of the economy tanking. Palin was the reason for that surge.

The polling data doesn't support your claim. It shows Obama dominating the polls for months before Palin's announcement. And the week after. The 'Palin Bump' came immediately after her September 3rd speech at the Republican convention. It lasted about 2 week, peaking on September 7th.....and declining ever after with Obama regaining the edge on September 15th and holding onto it for the rest of the election.

Which matches up quite nicely to when Palin actually started talking to people...instead of at them.

Given that a party almost always sees a surge in the polls immediately after their convention, its debatable how much of those 2 weeks was attributed to Palin. And how much the exposure of the Republican National Convention. Either way, it didn't last.

Actually, the democratic party doesn't champion 'killing off their offspring'. It champions protecting a woman's right to make her own reproductive choices. The DNC really takes no position on what she should do with that freedom. Only that she should have it.
