Jobs Joe! Economy is defying naysayers and added a whopping 372k Jobs in June!!

We have the finest German precision machines. And if you want a cheaper model, we also have a chinese model.

It's a global economy. I'm now firmly with conservatives on this. No need to pay you $100K a year plus benefits when we can get a support team in India to do it for $20,000.

And I'm all for McD automating. A robot can do what 3 people can in a year, for only $20,000.

If you are in IT, you should be okay. You must not be very good. Plus you have to keep up with the new technology. Being a support call person used to pay $80K but you can't expect them to pay that ever again.

God it's good to agree with conservatives for a change.
You're truly out of touch.
I am talking GW and you are talking out of your ass.
The two most successful companies that brought us to where we are today are Tesla and Apple who only hired the best.
Your bank, for instance, hired the worst because they cost $15.00/hour, literally worked 20 hrs a week and almost always took years to get anything done.
But almost all business stayed away from the Internet and so the Stock Holders took all the profits.

Yes, that is what people who make less than the medium income say about people who make more than the medium. I promise you, if you would rose through the ranks and became the VP of IT at your company, you'd be signing a different tune. Or if you were one of the millions of IT workers in this country who make a great living doing IT.

Are you saying that the reality is, in the past those jobs were paying $80K and today they pay $60K? Because of outsourcing? Well that's part of it.

But I can tell that if you were talking from a position of success, you'd be talking differently. I used to be you. So I see where you are coming from and I still sort of mostly agree with you but in the end, it sounds like you're asking for socialism. Or social engineering where we falsely pay IT people more than they're worth.

OMG I'm starting to sound like a Republican. I'm starting to finally get it. But why? Because I'm no longer working for a shitty company who doesn't value it's salespeople. You know, they hire 20 guys and treat 15 like shit? I don't work for a company like that any more but I know a lot of companies are like that. So what do you want to do about it? It seems like the answer is to keep on looking till you find something better.

But what if nothing is better? I guess you're stuck. So what do you want us to do about it? Say you can't hire indian phone support for cheap anymore? Good luck with that. You guys won't even go after illegal employers. Now you say you want to go after employers who legally hire indians instead of Americans?

You have the wrong impression.
I changed professions and am doing much better than if I remained a developer.
Developers are hired and fired every few years.
The failure seems to be someone such as yourself selling top of the line machines and being paid a paltry 100K?!
Are you joking?
The salespeople I know make close to 200K.

I don't work for the big 2. They probably make more. And I don't sell machines, I'm aftermarket. If I sell $2 million in aftermarket my company makes about $800K profit on it. How much do you think they should pay me? Plus great healthcare, 4% 401K match, 3 weeks of vacation, 3 sick days.

I'd say they pay me fairly. I'm happy with it. Of course I don't have kids, student loans or a mortgage. I'll admit if I had even 1 child, $100K aint that much.

How much do you make, how many kids do you have and do you have a mortgage or student loans? If you make less, have any kids and a mortgage, yea, your life sucks. LOL. We all make choices and we all land in a certain tax bracket for whatever reasons. I've come to the conclusion that in America, capitalism aint necessarily fair. Do you want the government to intervene or do you want to unionize or something? What do you want to do about it?

And like I said before, if you climbed the corporate ladder earlier in life, you'd have a completely different spin on things. No doubt about it. Your personal experiences have formed your opinions. But just consider maybe you weren't that good of an employee or IT person. Trust me, the sharpest IT guys are doing just fine

In fact, google how much do IT people make. In Ohio they make $114,000. More than me. Georgia $120,000? Wow! NC $112K. Michigan $110K

More than me.

If you have kids, you better have a wife who makes at least $50K right?

COVID was global, and still raging South of The Border and in the Eastern hemisphere.
But it's all Trump's fault!
So COVID is global and NOT trumps fault
but
Inflation and High Gas prices are global and totally Biden's fault.

Got it.
Thanks genius.

The last time I looked you people would have shit your pants if he didn't. In fact, he was widely criticized by the Democrats and the Branch Covidians for NOT forcing a national shut down.

But for you basement dweller's guess you missed that.
You people? What people? Republican, Democrat, etc? Face the facts your god imposed the first shut down. No one forced him, remember your god is his own man and was in charge.

I never said that explicitly.
The fact is that we are being ripped off by big oil and distributors and MNCs are always afraid that Ds will pass legislation making their processes more difficult and expenses.
The laws are not always bad but do cost money.

My experience is the same as 3 million others who started their career under Reagan who started the H1-B bullshit that resulted in Trump being elected.
I know many salespeople in NYS who also were thrown under the bus in favor of Indian H1-Bs who couldn't even speak English.
None of the parents in my community will ever allow their kids to "earn" a Computer Science Degree unless they earn another hard science degree because most of us are in our 50s and older and know what happened in the past will happen again.

Trump got handed a economic bouquet of roses, then he started the oil war, banned computer chips, imposed tariffs, told the country to close down causing massive unemployment, destroyed oil drillers, businesses, production & printed 5 times more money than we had, causing 500% inflation once Biden opened the country up for people to spend all that money.

Biden got stuck with rebuilding production, infrastructure, jobs, tightening monetary policy, raising interest rates, taxes, fighting debt, deficits, bans tariffs, war, sanctions, etc.

Over the past decades, many studies have found a strong correlation between the diversity of executive or advisory boards and the financial performance of companies, especially with regards to gender diversity. Recent studies include, for example, “Is Gender Diversity Profitable? Evidence from a Global Survey” by the Peterson Institute and EY, or the Women Matter report by McKinsey & Company.

The rationale is that diversity allows teams to approach problems from various perspectives, avoiding the risks of a “yes men” herd mentality. Of course, this is true on any level within an organisation, and not just the top leadership.

However, the top management position is generally still a male domain: Only 4.6% of the CEO posts in the data sample are held by women. Out of the mere thirteen female CEOs, six are heading US-American companies.

In contrast, the share of CEO posts held by foreign nationals is relatively high: 26% were born and raised in other countries than their corporation’s headquarters. That ratio is highest in Europe with 43% and Australia with 41% (predominantly from the UK and New Zealand); yet lowest in Asia with only 11%.

...one reason why top managers who studied overseas are generally in high demand for important positions.

Yep..it's not that I haven't read that nonsense over and over again.
The main issue of the 80s and 90s was profit and arrogance...Get a team that can't talk back, work 100+ hours a week and ensure a quarterly profit to boost Institutional Trading.
It's obvious you have been trained very well to be salesperson to regurgitate the usual nonsense.
The exposure of the Internet and the necessity of a working web site has changed all that.
Trump sent them all packing and the world changed for the better in under 3 years.

Speaking of Asia...Microsoft has not produced an innovation since 1998 when Gates fired every non-Indian.

I didn't know you were a science fiction writer.

I’m over he protectionist attitude. You can’t protect low wage workers. Capitalism depends on them. And it’s only getting harder. Get over it. You landed where you landed and that doesn’t mean the system is broken. That’s your opinion.

Yes, it’s getting harder for people but that’s because workers have no power. But should a blue collar worker make as much as I do? They did in he 90s. But that cuts into profits. Republicans got Clinton to sign nafta. My brother even admitted jobs coming back now pay $15. Too late. It’s a global economy.

I too was displaced by outsourcing. Move on. You can’t stop the machine.

Sorry, pal, you can't compare the last decade of Internet exposure, which has been a pleasure, to the period before hand.
Prior to the Housing Crash, any negativity towars MNCs was deleted because the MNCs owned all the servers and no one really knew what Corporate America was all about.
Now we know and the bullshit is exposed.
Do not lump electricians, plumbers, carpenters and other trades into the cashier category...it's an insult to people who actually build the structures you work and live in.

That’s what ditch diggers say. Their labor was worth x amount. That’s their thanks.

Supply and demand. Plumbers charge what they do because when you need one, what other option do you have?

Carpenters compete against each other.

If too many people get an electrician license, electricians now will get screwed.

The last time I looked Trump was President in 2020 and rewarded people to stay home after he is the one who FIRST shut the country down. But for you basement dweller's guess you missed that.
Honey, Trump wanted everything opened back up in mid-April 2000. But the jackass leftwing governors of California and New York kept everything closed through the election in order to hurt Trump's numbers.

Two years later, all the experts concluded Trump was right all along. We should never have shut down the economy. The great man was vindicated once again.

Trump caused the disaster by scaring the hell out of everyone & shutting US down in the first place. Pelosi & the Dems were in the streets saying come out shopping & go to restaurants everything is fine. Then trump turned it into political war. New York & California are always blue & didn't cost Trump the election. Trump did that all by himself.

So did Republicans but you'll never admit it.
Not for as long. Democrats run the two biggest states which skew the numbers. The great president never really wanted to shut down the government, but we went along with Idiot Fauci. Trump wanted things opened up after a few weeks. Turns out, as usual, he was right, and the leftwing hack Fauci was wrong.
