Here is the text of the agreement . Pretty good start, huh? However, if you are one of these hate Trump assholes nothing will ever be good enough for you.

President Donald J Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held first historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.

President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive in-depth and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new US-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting an robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Convinced that the establishment of new US-DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following:

The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new US-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity

The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula
Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula

The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

Having acknowledged that the US-DPRK summit — the first in history — was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulation in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the US-DPRK summit.

President Donald J Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new US-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.

So, then you lied when you said the denuclearization of Korea had happened.

Thanks for being man enough to admit it

Do you keep a score sheet marking it every time you catch someone in a technicality or who misspeaks? Is this a game to you? Do you actually care about the truth or just winning another argument?

Murderous Dictator Meets Dishonest President Behind Closed Doors

How will the American public know what they actually said? They may not.

WASHINGTON ― The first-ever North Korea-United States summit will start with a one-on-one meeting between a brutal dictator known for breaking his word and a president famous for his daily dishonesties.

With two unreliable narrators in Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump, how will Americans know what they actually said and agreed to with each other?

“We won’t,” said Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. “The whole Trump team has been an unreliable narrator throughout this process. It’s like ‘Rashomon,’ but really stupid.”

In Akira Kurosawa’s classic movie, the murder of a samurai is told through the vastly differing recollections of a handful of witnesses. For the meeting scheduled to begin in Singapore Tuesday morning ― Monday night on the United States East Coast ― there will only be two witnesses: each nation’s translator.

“And I don’t think either interpreter will be in a position to correct the record if the self-reporting by Kim and Trump doesn’t reflect what was actually said in the same manner and tone,” said Jenny Town, assistant director of the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University.

The White House said it does not believe there is any cause for concern about getting an accurate description of the two men’s words.

Trump, nevertheless, on almost a daily basis says and writes things that are demonstrably untrue ― sometimes doing so even though he knows what he is saying is untrue.

Even White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has been forced to acknowledge, multiple times, that information she received from Trump and relayed to the public has not been correct.

On top of Trump’s habit of untruths is Kim’s record of failing to honor his word.

How will we know what to believe coming out of the summit? What do you think?

Why are you so worried? NK was flourishing in the their development of nuclear weapons when albright was over toasting fine wines with uns dad. Are you worried that NK may give up its nuclear program?

No likely. He now has nukes which is why he is now willing to talk, he has what he wanted.

When this is done I predict he will get to keep them, not unlike Pakistan, with the promise not to make more and not to give them to others.

Here's my take.

On the one hand, averting war is always good. All too often, belligerents want to win more than they want peace, and I'm glad to see that this time, that doesn't appear to be the case. I will not criticize the President or Mr. Kim for taking the meeting, or for signing the agreement. I'm very anti-Trump as a matter of course, but this time he did the right thing, and largely under his own power, so I will give him his props for that.

On the other hand, I feel as if North Korea came away with more than we did. Their autocratic regime just got a pile of visibility and legitimacy, and we both got signatures on a paper that essentially says "We promise to tone it down." I still think the President is prone to being outmaneuvered and taken advantage of politically, which I think Kim is doing, and I still find it troubling that he is kowtowing to dictators while snubbing our allies.

As for the agreement, it was largely symbolic, and doesn't say much more of substance than earlier agreements had; that said, lasting changes start with something symbolic, so that's good. I was glad to see a line in there specifically about returning POWs. I also find it hilarious how obviously American it was - "to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and ... some Korean dude" - which I'm sure Kim was happy to sign, as long as he got the photo of him on equal footing with President Trump, and his flag on equal footing with ours.

I don’t trust North Korea at all and in the end this could all be for nothing, however I think this gesture by Trump helps soften the North Korean tone and dangles a carrot in front of them as they try to normalize relations with the rest of the world. The human rights issues in North Korea are troubling but we seem to have overlooked it with Cuba.

Let’s hope that conditions improve for the North Koreans, as South Korea gets more prosperous and stronger economically, I think that alone will push North Korea to become a civil nation.

Trump totally rolled over for Kim. Trump agreed to stop US military exercises in South Korea, surprising the South Koreans, in exchange for...nothing.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

A pretty good start?

Here, let me show you something from 2005: Six-Party Talks, Beijing, China

The Six Parties unanimously reaffirmed that the goal of the Six-Party Talks is the verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a peaceful manner.

A year later, North Korea exploded their first nuke.

How about 2007:

The DPRK agreed to disable all existing nuclear facilities subject to abandonment under the September 2005 Joint Statement and the February 13 agreement.

I could show you similar text from every agreement going back to 1992.

So the idea that Trump "started" something is hilarious. It's same old-same old bullshit.

Hope that puts your erection in perspective.

Are you really this big of an idiot as to not understand what they agreed to do?

What does the "DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" mean to an idiot like you?

A year ago the crazy left thought President Trump was goading North Korea into nuclear war and now they think he is being too chummy. Reagan said it best: "If I could walk on water the headline would be Reagan can't swim".

Holy crap a thoughtful well crafted post well done! :eusa_clap: Look this is a beginning and the ball is firmly in NK's court now. Worse case if NK backs out again president Trump is in a very strong position to take whatever action is needed. On the other hand NK may have had enough of being a half broke starving shithole when SK is swimming in wealth.
