Keystone Pipeline Benefits?

It is more about the right complaining about welfare for Individuals, even artificial Persons as Individuals getting bailed out by Socialism, like Usual.

Promoting the general welfare should be more than just bailing out the fossil fuel sector through eminent domain. It should be about Infrastructure sufficient to meet any demand required of it. Mass transit in goods and services should be included as Infrastructure since we have a Commerce Clause, to facilitate commerce and lower that cost to the private sector.

Bail out the fossil fuel industry? What type of left wing wanker are you?

Look you idiot. Trans Canada pays for the whole shebang you moron. It's just a freaking pipeline to transport crude. That's all it is fool.

And Keystone I and Keystone II and Keystone III from Cushing to the Gulf are pumping daily. Where were all you assholes protesting those pipelines that Obama's government passed?

Oh and the lateral to Houston? No protests?

Why only the northern leg? Political theatre. All bullshit. Did you protest Obama's government approval of the Alberta Clipper?

How about protesting your big greeny Steyer's pipelines?

did you know that non sequiturs are usually considered fallacies?

Fool. No one is bailing out anyone. This is a private enterprise funded with private monies. TransCanada has already completed three pipelines. XL North is just the Northern leg of the Keystone projects.

Keystone never has made any sense. It's a political pipeline.

You bet it's political. Political bullshit from the likes of you all the way to the fool in the White House.

Your State Department issued permits for the Keystone I necessary to cross the border. Where the fuck were you and Darryl Hannah and Neil Young for those ones?

Where were you when the Alberta Clipper was approved. Or where were you picketing the White House when they approved Southern Lights?

Why weren't you and Darryl and Neil protesting your guts out when the Cushing to the Gulf was being built? Where was everybody?

Hypocrite thy name is Liberal.

Here's Southern Lights. From Alberta to Chicago.

Southern Lights Project
The new Southern Lights diluent delivery system came into service July 2010 and carries product through 2,556-kilometers (1,588-miles) of pipeline originating near Chicago and terminating in Edmonton, Alberta.

(Diluent is a liquid hydrocarbon used to dilute heavy oil to make it easier to transport.) This new dedicated diluent delivery system has been achieved by reversing approximately 1,465-kilometers (910-miles) of existing pipeline – known as Line 13 – and constructing 1,091-kilometers (678-miles) of new pipeline in the U.S.

Alberta Clipper and Southern Lights - Enbridge Inc.

The $5.3-billion Keystone XL Pipeline Project is the largest infrastructure project currently proposed in the United States. Construction of the 1,179-mile pipeline will require 9,000 skilled American workers. The project will provide jobs for welders, mechanics, electricians, pipefitters, laborers, safety coordinators, heavy equipment operators and other workers who rely on large construction projects for their livelihoods.

In addition to construction jobs, an estimated 7,000 U.S. jobs are being supported in manufacturing the steel pipe and the thousands of fittings, valves, pumps and control devices required for a major oil pipeline.

TransCanada has contracts with more than 50 suppliers across the U.S., including companies in Texas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Indiana, Georgia, Maryland, New York, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Ohio, Arkansas, Kansas, California and Pennsylvania.

TransCanada employed 4,844 Americans in Oklahoma and Texas on construction of the $2.3-billion Gulf Coast Pipeline Project, which is expected to be complete by the end of this year.

Construction and development of the Keystone XL and Gulf Coast Pipeline Projects is anticipated to generate $20 billion in economic impact in the United States, including $99 million in local government revenues and $486 million in state government revenues during construction.

The pipelines will also generate an estimated $5 billion in additional property taxes during their operational life.

The Canadian Energy Research Institute predicts that Keystone XL will add $172 billion to America’s gross domestic product by 2035 and will create an additional 1.8 million person-years of employment in the United States over the next 22 years.

Way more at link.

Jobs Economic Benefits Keystone XL Pipeline

Hooray.....thousands of temporary unsustainable jobs. Another victory for the American people.

A temporary unsustainable job is still better than no job.

Here's the Alberta Clipper details. Where were the freaking whack jobs when this was approved?

Alberta Clipper is a 1,607-km (1,000-mile) crude oil pipeline that provides service between Hardisty, Alberta, and Superior, WI. Initial capacity is 450,000 barrels per day (bpd), with ultimate capacity of up to 800,000 bpd available.

From my understanding is that the keystone pipeline is solely about helping Canada get to the gulf and ship oil out the US and has nothing to do with: 1. Getting the US more oil (like many like myself were led to believe) and 2. Not about producing and sending any of our oil anywhere.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but other than the over inflated (yes the right lies about the number of jobs that are created, just like the left does) temporary jobs, what is the big benefit to the US that we continue fight back and forth over.

If it truly was about getting more Canadian oil to the stated, then I am for it. It should more forward, but if it's solely about getting Canadian oil to the gulf, then I have no idea why (other then generous kickbacks), whey the Republicans are pushing for this so hard!

Adding to our pipeline network will also help our fracked oil get to market, without using more dangerous train cars or trucks.
Use airplanes, they have a great safety record..

The Keystone pipeline will benefit Canada by allowing them to get their crude more easily to international markets where they can get a better price for it.

Using the liberals logic we shouldn't build a highway because after its built the construction jobs end. Fact is they hate oil and oil companies they will use any excuse not to build the pipeline.

Well Canada is your number one supplier after all so I have no clue whatsoever why anyone or their mother would object to the Keystone XL.

You are going to buy and refine the oil no matter what method of transportation is used.

The Keystone is also going to be used to transport products from your producers as well. Just south of me in North Dakota the Bakken fields are rocking and they will be shipping on the XL big time.
USA oil would mind....and the pipeline will send it to refineries, not all refineries are US owned and operated...then the finished Canadian oil will be exported....What is it worth to Canadian oil companies to have this pipeline in our nation?

I would have to see the fine print on the deal, but if Canada wants it so bad, then they can pay for having it on US soil...

No offense but you don't have a clue what you are talking about. US refineries have been buying millions of barrels of crude from Canada for forever.

We are your number one supplier. You need more than you produce.

Your oil producers also use Keystone I, II, III to ship their oil to various refineries. And your own agencies state that the bulk percentage of the refined product will remain in the US.

Why? Because you fucking need it.

Construction work by its very nature is temporary. Give your head a shake.

Your own State Department projects 42,000 jobs.

Keystone XL is the definition of shovel-ready infrastructure project. Almost overnight, Keystone XL could put 9,000 hard-working American men and women directly to work. The U.S. State Department’s Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (PDF, 4 MB) found that the project would support more than 42,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide.

Jobs Economic Benefits Keystone XL Pipeline

So again no tangible sustained benefits there either.
Once again like talking to a stone

I think we should all be very thankful for a pipeline that carries foreign oil through our land so it can be sold on the global market.

Good for you. Every barrel of oil sold on the global market that takes a barrel out of the oil being sold from the middle eastern nations that use the money to try and destroy the US is a good thing. Every barrel of oil that the US produces and refines in the US does the same thing and helps lower our balance of payments. You were sincere weren't you?

I need crude oil to have sex, is that a Canadian fetish?

So all ME nations that produce oil want to destroy the US? You left out Russia also...

so where has all the help for this country gone with Keystone I & ll soundly in place ?

riddle me that

You buy our oil and refine it and fucking use it. Get a grip.

The pipeline is unnecessary, we have enough oil already with more domestic production to come. Canadian oil is the dirtiest, most inefficient and expensive oil in the world. I think we can do better.
We are ,we will pump other products, will be upgrading to new and better systems, and providing revenue and taxes,as well as jobs.If we let people like you run things we would still be chasing our food with a sharp stick.

Keystone, the oil and oil by products create UNION jobs ... ya know those UNION thugs the RW's keep protesting about day in and day out.

RW hypocrisy knows NO bounds... NONE.

I was just pointing that out myself. Unions are BIG supporters of Keystone.
Defense industry is full of good paying union jobs.

I don't know how Republicans live with themselves some time.

Republicans are all for Keystone and are in the process of forcing Obama's hand right now. Most Republicans I know are opposed to public sector unions, and only criticize private sector unions for their 90% donations to Democrat politicians.

Trans Canada pays for the construction and the operation of its pipelines. Just like Enbridge does. As do other pipeline companies.

Pipelines are just a method of getting crude to market just like rail and transport.

This is much ado about nothing. Political theater that is holding up a piece of infrastructure to get crude to refineries.
