The German authorities quite rightly took action against a small group of extremist nut-jobs, just like the U.S. authorities took action against a similar lunatic group in Oregon recently when local authorities had appeared to cave in to them.

In the case of the UK there are more Jewish and Catholic religious courts than there are Sharia ones and these have been operating for centuries. There's a 1966 UK Act of Parliament that allows religious courts to arbitrate civil matters within their local communities but nothing they can do or order can run counter to the prevailing law of the land as determined by Parliament. The population of Muslims in the UK is around 5% of the total population, what's the issue?
