Latest term for illegal aliens: "Refugees"

That's right, the lefties have come up with their latest vocabulary manipulation by now referring to all illegal aliens in the U.S. as "refugees." Stirs up a patriotic image of the innocent victims of WW2, doesn't it? I wonder how many morons will be sucked into this latest deception?

There are several distinctions according to their motives...it's really easy to categorize.

The reason these Central American countries have become shitholes is because the Democrats have prevented the U.S. from helping to maintain some semblance of order. That is exactly what happened when they suddenly stopped all support for the Contras in Nicaragua.

People who are in the USA and approach and ask for asylum are not here illegally. The long lines of people waiting for entry at established manned border crossing are here legally. Even those who cross at unestablished points become legal once they ask for asylum and are accepted pending hearings are legal.

How about when 90% don't show up for their hearings? Then are they illegal, or do they turn into "refugees?"

As already correctly noted, refugees seeking asylum are not ‘illegal.’

Immigration law recognizes the fact that refugees cannot obtain permission from their countries of origin to come to the United States because they’re fleeing oppression.

That’s why immigration law allows refugees up to 30 days after entering the US to apply for refugee status.

The law governing refugees seeking asylum has nothing to do with ‘the left.’

Undocumented and refugee are two different classifications of immigrant.

An undocumented immigrant may not necessarily be a refugee; those undocumented are awaiting adjudication with regard to their refugee status.

When an undocumented immigrant is determined to not be a refugee, he is subject to deportation.

This thread’s premise is yet another example of the fear, ignorance, bigotry, and hate common to most on the right.
