Let's clear a few things up about the Indiana Religious Freedom Law

^another example of ridiculous lies being repeated.

They were brutally attacked and did lose everything. We have to respect all Citizens' rights. Even when we don't agree with particular stances. This law is an inevitable end-result of many years of persecution against people of faith.
They weren't attacked. They choose, of their own free will, to close the bakery because their actions caused people to stop buying from them. They have yet to be fined or punished in any way, shape, or form.

Yes, they were 'punished' for expressing their religious beliefs and convictions. They're the victims. It's vital we protect all citizens' rights.

No, they acted out on a religious belief that the law had made illegal to act out on.
The Constitution makes it illegal for government to make a law against the free exercise of religion and the speech that goes with that free exercise.

Most like to pick & choose which citizens and rights they wanna defend. The fact is, all citizens' rights need to be respected and protected.

Can a religion practice human sacrifice in the US, protected by the Constitution?
False equivalency.

Refusing to make a cake creates no physical harm. Will you allow the state to dictate what values everyone MUST have?

Yes, they could have had their cake made elsewhere. They could have respected the business owner's religious beliefs and rights. But instead they sued and tried to have them punished. The business owners lost everything as a result.

What we see here on this forum is bigotry by the left, and the practice of discrimination against people of faith. I find it amusing that they are fighting against a law signed into law by their hero, Bill Clinton.

Anyway, I have no more time for this place today....the toxic effects of this forum is becoming much to hard to bear up under.

Take care.

It is very sad new laws like this are necessary. But the Communists/Democrats did declare war on Christians. They've been waging it for years. Christians and people of faith have no choice but to fight back. Religious persecution is Un-American. Simple as that.

The law allows the following...and I will put it in terms for you to understand.....

If there is a church Indiana where the Priest regularly preaches the evils of homosexuality, and a couple is getting married at that church and they request the services of a photographer who is gay, and that photographer turn down the job because she refuses to step into that church and the couple feels that son
that is quite a mature comment.

I hear ya. Before long they'll be screeching about 'Jim Crow' and how it's all DA BOOOSH's fault. Don't get your expectations up here. Most of it's predictable lameness. Anyway, have a good one. Catch ya next time.

Religion is why you little morons hate homosexuals. That and them being the dreaded "others". Grownups don't need laws like this, they just do their jobs without trying say it's faith, when it isn't..

It's not the same law. If you were to do some research instead of just listening to the likes of Faux News you would know it is not the same.

Pence vows to 'fix' religious freedom law, ensure 'no license to discriminate'
Pence vows to fix religious freedom law ensure no license to discriminate Fox News

Well, that didn't take long...
He is changing the wording that will have absolutely no effect on the law itself, but, instead, prevent assholes like Sharpton and gay rights supporters from INTENTIONALLY misconstruing what the law says for political benefit.

I see you are one of the folks that has not read the law as well...and instead allowed the likes of Sharpton to tell you what the law says.

SO what will he do?

He will be forced to do what I thought gay rights advocates did NOT want....to be singled out.

Yes, the law will NOW single out gays...make them different.....but in no way offer them anything more or anything less than what the law offers them now.

No...

Grown-ups don't automatically assume discrimination when things don't go their way.

It's not "Christians" that are making these laws. True Christians would not look for ways to make less of others. It's pseudo christians that are coming up with these laws that do nothing but spew hatred and allow them under the law to discriminate people based on something that doesn't affect them.

You forgot your 'Jim Crow' and BOOOOSH rant. There's still time though. Better get that one in.

Thank you.....too bad Pence and his ilk are so immature they won't get it.

Wouldn't be necessary if you Communists/Democrats hadn't declared war on Christians. You're persecuting them. You're not respecting and protecting their rights. You're just picking & choosing which people and rights you wanna defend. But it's vital we respect and protect all citizens' rights.

Why don't you just answer the question? I'll help you. The answer is no.

The answer is no, and that establishes that religious rights are not unlimited. Actions taken in the name of religion that infringe on the rights of others are not automatically protected by law, the courts, or the Constitution.

Take polygamy as another example. When the Court upheld the right of states to outlaw polygamy, it did so against the defendant's argument that polygamy was a religious practice by the Mormon Church, in fact, mandated by the teachings of the church.

It didn't hold up. Your argument that religion has some sort of magic bullet to shoot down all other laws or all other rights is fatally flawed by the facts.

this law is a desperate attempt to appease the fringe right..

Spoken like someone who has no fucking clue what the law says or what it actually does.

Do you deny that the law allows legal discrimination with religion as the only needed excuse?
Only an idiot thinks that. Then again, look who's making the claim.

Then what does the law do? What is its purpose?

Be specific and give specific examples.
You've already been told a hundred times. Apparently you still can't read.

No, I haven't.

Tell me then. Does this law allow a Catholic hospital to refuse to treat homosexuals? Does this law allow a Catholic hospital to refuse to hire homosexuals?

Can that hospital use a religious argument under this law to justify the above?

I let a lawyer work through the law for me. His conclusion, a No "anything not already protected class" would be legal no matter what crazy ideas you call "religion".
